Filipino-Japanese actress Iwa Moto credits her businessman boyfriend for encouraging her to observe a healthy lifestyle.
"Madalas pinu-puwersa niya ko mag-boxing sa gym nila," Iwa revealed to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) with a laugh at the press conference for Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita? last January 19 at The Roxy on Tomas Morato Ave., Quezon City.
Iwa loves to play it rough, as shown by her current fondness for kickboxing and grappling, a submission sport that develops self-defense skills without using any weapon.
The two-time FHM Philippines cover girl complements her active lifestyle with limited carbohydrates intake, which is also under the tight watch and supervision of her boyfriend.
"Wala din akong choice kasi lagi akong may katabing nagbabantay sa pagkain ko," said Iwa, who proudly displayed her sexy figure to the photographers covering the event.
Having a slimmer frame prompted the StarStruck alumna to go shopping and overhaul her wardrobe. She said, "Siyempre, kailangan namang bumagay sa figure ko 'yong mga damit ko ngayon."
Staying fit is also necessary as she will be very busy juggling two shows for her home network, said Iwa. First is the modern remake of the classic film Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita? where she will portray Rossan, the rebellious daughter of Alvina (Jean Garcia).
"Working with Ms. Jean Garcia is a privilege pero nakaka-tense din," she mentioned, citing Jean's influence on her when it comes to portraying villain roles.
Iwa will return as the lead villain, Valentina, in the primetime series Darna. The Valentina character temporarily took a break in giving way to the entry of the new villains: Serpina, Vladimir, Babaeng Manananggal, Babaeng Demonyita and Electra.
