Mel Tiangco receives CEO Excel Award

The recognition was given due to her efforts in uplifting the lives of Pinoys nationwide.

GMA Kapuso Foundation executive vice president Carmela "Mel" Tiangco was conferred the Communication Excellence in Organization or CEO Excel Award for Excellence in Corporate Foundation.

As the steadfast leader of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and a pillar of GMA's News and Public Affairs group, Mel was recognized for her being in the forefront of various sustainable programs and special projects for the underprivileged "Kapusong Filipino" all over the country.

The CEO Excel Award is given annually by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines to senior executives who have effectively used communication strategies and tools to advance the goals of their organizations.

During the awarding ceremony, Mel was accompanied by GMA Network corporate affairs head and IABC executive vice president Carmencita G. Arce, Globe Telecom corporate social responsibilities program head and IABC Director Jeffrey Tarayao, Mel Tiangco, and TV5 public service head of news and current affairs and IABC Director Sheryl Yao.
