Bukod sa mga awards at recognition na natatanggap na ni Dingdong Dantes bilang isang host, celebrity at philanthropist, ilang parangal na rin ang natanggap niya bilang isang aktor.
Isa na nga rito ang naging nomination niya nuong 2010 sa 15th Asian TV Awards, at ang pagkapanalo niya ng Best Drama Actor sa Star Awards for Television both for Stairway to Heaven.
Pero ito ang unang pagkakataon na mabigyan siya ng parangal bilang Best Actor sa Metro Manila Film Festival para sa pelikula na Segunda Mano.
Dingdong was not in the audience when his name was called out as Best Actor winner at the 2011 awards night of MMFF on December 28 at Resorts World in Pasay City.
Nasa Boracay si Dingdong ng mga oras na yun, kasama ang kanyang pamilya at ang girlfriend na si Marian Rivera. Kahapon, December 30, lamang ito bumalik mula sa ilang araw na pagbabakasyon.
Muli siyang tinext ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) para i-congratulate siya at hingan ng statement sa kanyang pagkapanalo sa nakaraang MMFF awards night.

DINGDONG'S STATEMENT. Narito ang kabuuang e-mail ni Dingdong:
"Sa lahat ng mga kalahok, congratulations!
"I started in this industry with a dream. Back then it was nothing specific... just vivid images of an urge of contributing something to this industry.
"Little by little things became clearer. I knew what I wanted to do, with the help of all that I have worked with since day one of my birth in this field.
"Then came the formation of AGOSTODOS PICTURES that is now the vehicle of my contribution to further enrich this business with quality entertainment.
"This venture became possible after Kris and I talked about collaborating on a movie, early last year. The rest is history.
