They say, "life begins at 40."
And to welcome his 40th birthday with a bang, Aga Muhlach brought 80 of his family and friends to Camarines Sur for three days (August 11-14) of non-stop parties, R & R, and extreme watersports.
From being a famous Bagets member in the '80s to a most sought-after leading man in the '90s, Aga has already proven his worth as a dramatic actor.
At present, he's more focused on his family life. He has been happily married to beauty queen Charlene Gonzalez since May 2001. They have seven-year-old twins, Atasha and Andres. Aga is also the dad of Igi Boy Muhlach, his son with Janice de Belen. As expected, all of them went to the Camsur event.
Other relatives who joined him in his three-day celebration were his dad Cheng Muhlach, siblings Albert and Arlene, mother-in-law Elvie Gonzalez, and cousin Liezl Martinez, who came with husband Albert and their kids.
His friends—direk Joyce Bernal, CamSur Governor Lray Villafuerte, his manager Ethel Ramos, Fr. Tito Caluag, Joross Gamboa, Paolo Paraiso, Mons and Xander Tantoco, and photographer Raymund Isaac—were also present.
A few friends from the media were invited, but he politely requested that ambush interviews be avoided.
THE ACTIVITIES. For the venue, Aga chose Camsur Watersports Complex, where he hones his skill as a wakeboarder. Aga's enthusiasm for the sport was evident when he took the effort to teach his guests some basic lessons every morning and afternoon.
Come night time, Aga and wife Charlene mounted parties. The main event was his actual birthday celebration, which took place on the night of the second day, August 12. His family and friends prepared an AVP (audio visual presentation) featuring the funniest facts and anecdotes about the birthday boy. To read about some of them, click this link.
There was singing and dancing, which was gamely participated by Aga himself and his mini-me, Andres. Charlene cheered for the dad-son tandem!
The whole entourage returned to Manila last August 14, with the wakeboarding fever and lotsa interesting stories to tell about the birthday boy.

i got a chance to meet him once, sa UST pa yun, sinama ako ng high school friend ko na student na sa UST, sa USTv Awards. nakakagulat ang response ng mga Thomasians sa kanya, kilala nila si Aga, ganda ng aura niya nung nasa stage siya, very engaging and personable napansin talaga namin.
