“I’m not sure if they’re really going out in that sense," answers Megastar Sharon Cuneta when asked if her daughter KC Concepcion and TV director Lino Cayetano are dating.

“And I think the best person to ask would be Lino, di ba? I wouldn’t want people asking my daughter. I think Lino should be asked, because I’d also want to know!” Sharon laughs.

In an interview with The Buzz, Sharon comments on PEP's (Philippine Entertainment Portal) exclusive story that KC and Lino were seen together at Sonya’s Garden, Tagaytay, on December 22.

KC is currently finishing up her studies at the American University in Paris. Lino is the son of the late Senator Rene Cayetano, brother of Senator Pia Cayetano, and ex-boyfriend of Blog host Bianca Gonzalez. He works as a television director for ABS-CBN, having directed the defunct Little Big Star and Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. He was the first director of GMA-7's highly successful Starstruck star search.

“I want to know,” says the Megastar. “I don’t like—parang ang pangit kung sa amin manggagaling, lalo na sa anak ko. At ayoko mangialam kasi she’s turning 22!”

However, Lino has declined all interviews on the subject. Instead, he sends this text message to The Buzz:

“I just want to keep my personal life private muna sana ‘cause hindi pa ako nasasanay. Hope the press won’t take offense. That’s just how I am…

“As for me and KC, I think it is enough for people concerned to know that I like her a lot. And I think napakaganda, napakatalino, and talented niyang tao…”

He ends with, “I hope to get to know her more while she is still here in Manila.”

The Megastar says it’s hard to believe that her firstborn, KC, is now a young lady—with plenty of suitors.

“There’s no choice. You have to accept it," Mom Sharon says. "It took a while. Hindi naman tanga ‘yang anak ko. Marunong pumili ‘yan. ‘Tsaka ang anak ko, hindi tumitingin sa itsura. Ang importante kay KC—na-notice ko—matalino.”

She adds that she hopes KC would end up with a spiritual and caring person.

The Megastar says that she hopes her daughter, from her first marriage to Gabby Concepcion, chooses a man with the following qualities: “Sana takot sa Diyos, sana nga Kristiyano. Pangalawa, aalagaan lang siya. At alam mo kung anong pinakaimportante… Bukod sa mahal siya, mahal niya siyempre—sana mapalapit sa aming lahat. Sana ‘yong magiging boyfriend niya or asawa pagdating ng araw, ‘yon bang mapapalapit lalo sa amin ang anak namin. ‘Tsaka sana pati siya mag-blend sa pamilya kasi sayang ‘yong love na puwede naming ibigay.”

PEP believes that if Direk Lino is able to get some, or a lot, of KC's time while she is here, that's a good sign for him. KC Concepcion is one very busy lady—with nearly every day of her short visit here filled with shoots for TV commercials, magazine covers, interviews, plus her own continuing causes that extend to orphanages and musicians and painters. The girl barely has time to pay her friends a visit even when's she raring to do so. She ends up sending text messages to them to keep in touch. If KC spends any of her precious free hours with Lino, he has reason to be happy. It's a sign he has hope.
