Visible man sa telebisyon ay mukhang pansamantala munang namahinga si Rica Peralejo sa kanyang pagiging isang artista upang pagtuunan ng pansin ang kanyang hosting at pag-aaral. Regular na napapanood si Rica bilang isa sa mga host ng ABS-CBN daily morning show na Umagang Kay Ganda.
Sa pansamantalang pagtalikod ni Rica bilang artista ay namahinga na rin ang kabi-kabilang issues at intriga sa kanya. Kung kaya't kahit may bago na siyang non-showbiz boyfriend ay hindi ito gaanong maingay sa publiko.
Sa panayam ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Rica sa pictorial ng isang clothing line, inamin niyang mayroon siyang bagong inspirasyon pero tumanggi siyang magbigay ng karagdagang mga detalye.
"May boyfriend ako, he's non showbiz," sabi ni Rica. "Pasensiya na if I will not give any details or whatsoever. I really respect that person and more than respect, I want it for me na lang.
"Showbiz man or non-showbiz, iba-iba, e, depende ‘yan sa tao. Kung ako ang tatanungin, kung ako sa sitwasyon ko, masaya ako sa kung ano ang mayroon kami," aniya.
Ayaw mang i-reveal ang identity ay inisa-isa naman ni Rica ang characteristics na nagustuhan niya sa boyfriend.

Since kuntento at masaya naman siya sa itinatakbo ng relasyon nila, aminado si Rica na napag-uusapan na rin nila ang kasal and having their own family.
"Hindi ako papasok sa isang relasyon kung hindi ko nakikita," sabi niya. "Nababanggit namin, pero kasi yung mga ganung bagay, nababanggit mo naman once you are in a relationship. E, ako, hindi ako pumapasok sa isang relasyon na hindi ako seryoso. In any relationship, I guess, I need to be that way also."
EDUCATING RICA. Sinabi rin ni Rica na kahit hindi na siya matatawag na celebrity talaga ay masaya at nakapag-adjust na siya sa buhay niya bilang estudyante at host ng Umagang Kay Ganda.
"Yung hirap, hindi nawawala ‘yan. Pero yung joy niya sa akin, it's worth it in whatever hirap na nadadaanan ko. Sobrang saya! I never thought sa age ko na ito, makakabalik pa ako sa eskuwelahan. Ang sarap ng feling na normal kang tao!
"Kung ano ang hinihingi ng estudyante, yun din ang hinihingi ko. Kung ang problema ko ay grades ko, I have to work hard on that, kailangan mong pagtrabahuhan. Kesehodang ayaw mo ng Science, kailangang talagang mag-aral ka ng Nat Sci [Natural Science] sa ayaw at sa gusto mo.
"Actually, simple lang at mababaw. Pero parang ang basic ng buhay na-skip ko because I started acting when I was 12. I started being a celebrity, 12 ako. So I skipped a lot of normal things. Right now, I'm on my second year second sem. I'm taking up Creative Writing. But next year, mid-year, magsi-shift ako ng English Literature.
"I'm not closing my doors that maybe someday, puwede pa rin akong gumawa ng teleseryes, movies... Pero sa ngayon talaga, ang priorities ko are my studies and Umagang Kay Ganda.
"Siguro pag tapos na ako sa studies ko, tapos let's say may mag-offer ng isang magandang project, bakit hindi? Pero ako kasi, nag-e-enjoy ako mag-host. Napaka-content oriented niya, people oriented. It's not about you, e. Ayoko naman talagang maging celebrity," saad ni Rica.
