For the very first time, nagkuwento na si Sheryl Cruz tungkol sa breakup nila ng kanyang mister na si Norman Bustos. Nitong nakaraang 2008 ay kinumpirma ng aktres na hiwalay na sila ng kanyang Fil-Am husband after 12 years as a couple.
Sa naganap na reunion ng That's Entertainment sa Walang Tulugan With the Master Showman ni Kuya Germs last Saturday night, January 10, nagsalita si Sheryl. Gusto na raw kasi niyang maging open sa mga nangyari sa kanya nitong nagdaang taon.
"I cannot deny the fact that it was really hard for me and for my daughter to go through sa nangyari," umpisa ni Sheryl. "But we are coping with it very well. Kahit naman wala na si Norman sa buhay ko, we are still friends. We still communicate at parati silang nagkakausap ni Ashley. Yun naman ang importante, di ba? That our daughter is seeing us na magkaibigan pa rin."
Sinabi rin ni Sheryl na in the process na ang pag-file niya ng divorce at pati na ang annulment ng kasal nila rito sa Pilipinas.
"Lahat naman ng mga legal papers ay inaasikaso naman," banggit ni Sheryl. "But I really don't want to talk about it, kasi nga naka-file na ang mga ‘yon. I am just waiting for it all to be finalized.
"Ang maganda na lang is my relationship with Norman is still okay. Hindi nga lang kami magkasama because we decided to live separate lives. Gano'n talaga at tanggap na namin ‘yon."
NOT YET DATING. Nang tanungin ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Sheryl if she is dating someone, aniya ay wala pa raw sa isip niya ngayon ang makipag-date sa iba.
"Definitely hindi ko priority ang makipag-date," sabi niya. "Masyado akong busy ngayon because of the many things I am doing. Plus I am taking care of my daughter. Ayoko namang isipin niya na nakikipag-date ako with other guys, e, nandiyan pa naman ang daddy niya.
"I think darating naman yung dating when the right time comes. Ngayon kasi, hindi talaga pupuwede and I am okay with myself sa ngayon. If I do go out on dates, it's with friends and family.
"Kung si Norman nakikipag-date sa iba? I really don't know kasi hindi naman ako nagtatanong sa kanya. If he is, good for him, di ba? It means na he is moving on. Kailangan din naman natin lahat ng inspiration. Ako, ang inspiration ko is my daughter and she's enough for me."
BACK TO RECORDING. Balik recording si Sheryl ngayon at malapit nang ipalabas ang kanyang album titled There's No Place Like Home. Puro original songs ang laman ng kanyang album na produced ng Wow Music at dedicated nga raw ito sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).
"The songs in the album vary. May love songs, ballads, pop, and inspirational. I wrote one song in the album and it turned out okay. I will be promoting the album when it comes out in February.
"First love ko naman talaga is singing, di ba? And writing songs has been a dream of mine. Nagawa ko na nga ‘yon and I am very happy with the result. Hopefully, I get to write more songs in the future."
HOLIDAYS IN PINAS. Noong nakaraang Pasko at Bagong Taon ay nandito sa Pilipinas si Sheryl at ang anak niyang si Ashley. They spent the Holidays kasama ang kanyang pamilya at mga kamag-anak.
"It was a simple yet meaningful Christmas for me and Ashley. Nandito rin kasi ang brother ko na si Renzo [Cruz] and his two kids. Kasama namin ang ibang relatives during the holidays. Hindi naman kasi kami makapag-out of the country because I have taping for Luna Mystika and I was working on my album. Kaya dito na lang kami at mas masaya naman ang Pasko dito sa atin talaga," kuwento ng dating child star.
