Star-studded Bench fashion show

Kumpara sa mga nakaraang Bench fashion shows, masasabing mas maikli lang ang naging presentation ng Bench, together with it's sister companies—Kashieca and Human—last May 31 at the SMX Mall of Asia for the Fashion Week, pero siksik naman ito with celebrities na rumampa sa catwalk.
The fashion show opened with a silver Human ball as a huge prop, then sinundan ng actual fashion show, at pagkatapos ay nagsilbing highlight for the oversized-pants theme si Luis Manzano, at si Billy Crawford naman for the Japanese animation. The two, as we all know, are both celebrity endorsers of Human.
After that, ang Holiday collection naman ng Kashieca ang sumunod na inilabas. May mga nag-abang sa paglabas nina Lucy Torres-Gomez at Kris Aquino na parehong endorsers ng Kaschieca, pero bukod-tanging si Bea Alonzo lamang na siyang signature model ng Kashieca ang rumampa.
Pang-finale, siyempre pa, ang Bench clothing kung saan nagpasukan ang karamihan ng mga artista na Bench models—Regine Angeles, Ron Morales, Hansen Nichols, Iya Villania, Shaina Magdayao, Enchong Dee at John Prats. Karylle led the Pinoy Lab lines.
Sabay-sabay namang rumampa sina Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu at Jake Cuenca. Pagdating ng tatlo sa dulo, parehong humarap kay Kim ang dalawang male stars at nag- a la-David Garcia, ang kanilang role sa primetime series ng Tayong Dalawa, na sumaludo. Their gimmick was one of the most applauded portions.
Mixed print naman ang style nang rumampa sina Christian Bautista, Zanjoe Marudo at Diether Ocampo, na kapansin-pansin ang kanyang rock-hard abs dahil bukas ang front top niya.
After that, pumasok na ang mga Bench Body models wearing only their underwear, sa pangunguna ng RNB singer na si Jay-R, na pinalakpakan din ng husto. Ang Be Bench winner na si Regine Angeles ang pinaka-daring sa mga female celebs wearing only her bikini. Umani rin ng tili sina Ron Morales, Marco Alcaras, Rafael Rosell at Jon Avila.
Panghuli ang collection na itinatampok si Piolo Pascual. Siyempre pa, pinalakpakan din nang husto ang Kapamilya heartthrob, lalo na noong buksan niya ang butones ng kanyang coat, kaya lang ang panloob niyang sleeveless polo ang nakita lamang.
Sa finale ay isa-isang lumabas ang mga celebrity endorsers. Panghuling pumasok sa runway sina Bea at Piolo.
The show was directed by Ariel Lozada, ang consistent director ng mga fashion shows ng Bench.
After the show, nagkaroon ng chance ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na makausap ang mismong may-ari ng Bench, Human at Kaschieca na si Mr. Ben Chan. Very happy siya sa outcome ng fashion show pero may konting regret din na sana raw pala, sa mas malaking venue nila ito ginawa.
"Super happy," nakangiting pahayag nito. "But I wish the venue was bigger kasi, mas maraming hindi nakaupo na. Yung iba ko ngang guests, umalis na lang [dahil] 2:30 pa lang, punung-puno na. Kaya lang, hindi kami makapagpapasok on time kasi we were still rehearsing."
In fairness, isa sa mga fashion show na inaabangan palagi ay ang Bench. How does he feel about this?
"Sana tuloy-tuloy," ang matipid niyang sagot.
Tinanong din ng PEP si Ben Chan kung talaga bang plinano nilang si Piolo naman ang mag-shine this time, lalo pa nga't hindi present ang iba pa nilang celebrity endorsers?
"Oo, because I believe, he deserves it. At saka, actually, yung last portion, yun talaga ang lines niya sa Bench. It just gets better by Piolo, di ba? So, yun ang collection niya for Holidays ng Bench," sagot ng clothing tycoon.
Ang mag-asawang Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, na loyal endorsers ng Bench, ay piniling maging bahagi ng audience this time. Pero kapansin-pansin na wala ang iba, gaya nina Dingdong Dantes at Richard Gutierrez. Inusisa namin si Ben Chan kung sadya ba talagang wala ang dalawa?
Aniya, "Well, hindi naman...kapag available sila, nandiyan sila. Kapag hindi, hindi."
Nangiti naman ito nang sundutan namin ng tanong kung hindi ba siya nagtatampo?
"Hindi, hindi," ang mabilis niyang sabi. "Kasi, napagbibigyan naman nila ko sa ibang pagkakataon."
