As part of its 10th anniversary this year, Dove joined hands with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the City of Taguig to kick off the annual Women's Month celebration at the Fort Bonifacio Global City last March 1.
Over 5,000 women participated in this event, which highlighted the recent enactment of the Magna Carta of Women's Rights into the Philippine law.
The whole-day event began with a "Walk for Women's Rights" and a 30-minute march on a designated route around Fort Bonifacio. Ten Dove ambassadors who epitomize Dove's platform for 2010, Dove at Ten: Totally Beautiful, led the march: Akiko Thomson, Pinky Marquez, Nicole Fonacier, Raya Mananquil, Sara Black, Pia Magalona, Marielle Santos-Po, Timmy Cruz, Susan Campos and Chiqui Hollmann-Yulo.
Dynamic Tessa Prieto-Valdes, together with Dove ambassador Pinky Marquez, hosted the program after the women's march.
People were ushered to the NBC Tent for a mini-fair that had various booths catering to women's health, beauty, wellness and livelihood.
According to Dove in looking back at a decade of real beauty in the Philippines, it has consistently promoted positive self-image through campaigns that train the spotlight on issues important to real women. The company asserts that it has stayed true to its advocacy—to encourage women to accept, celebrate and nurture how beautiful they truly are, just as they are.
