At 50, veteran broadcaster Raffy Tulfo deserves no less than a star-studded birthday celebration. The fearless radio host, who anchors the long-running program Wanted sa Radyo with Niña Taduran on RMN, did just that last March 5, when he hosted a formal dinner in the Garden Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
The night sizzled as sexy celebrities entertained Tulfo's high-profile guests, composed of police officers from the top brass of the Philippine National Police and several politicians, including San Juan City Mayor JV Ejercito and Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco.
The roster of celebrity entertainers included Cristine Reyes, Rufa Mae Quinto, Valerie Concepcion, Regine Angeles, Aubrey Miles, Jacq Yu, Alessandra de Rossi, Princess Ryan, Saicy Aguila, Ethel Booba, and former Wowowee dancers Luning, Milagring, and Mariposa.
Before singing and dancing for Tulfo's guests, all the stars wished the celebrant good health, long life, and a better career ahead.
They also greeted Tulfo's immediate family: his wife Jocelyn Pua-Tulfo, and children Maricel and Ralph Tulfo.
Arpie of the band Arpie and the Multivitamins and comedian Mang Enriquez served as the night's hosts.
SINGING FOR TULFO. Mang Enriquez opened the night when he sang a hilarious Tagalized version of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal."
Then all eyes were on Raffy Tulfo when he sliced the cake specially made for the event. He also thanked the policemen who attended his party, adding that Wanted sa Radyo actually helps the Philippine National Police be a clean organization by weeding out its corrupt members.
Entertainment continued when Eva Fonda star Cristine Reyes took the stage and sang Paris Hilton's "Stars are Blind." Former Wowowee girls Milagring, Mariposa, and Luningning also gave an energetic dance number.
Regine Angeles, a winner of ABS-CBN's Be Bench model search, sang Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" and Mandy Moore's "Only Hope." Award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi sang Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me."
Not to be outdone was a confident Rufa Mae Quinto, who sang Cliff Richard's "Ocean Deep." Next was sexy star Aubrey Miles, who sang "Dolce Vita." Miles later performed with sexy cover girl Jacq Yu.
Wowowee host Valerie Concepcion sang D'Sound's "Tatooed on My Mind."
Other stars who performed that night were Princess Ryan, Saicy Aguila, and Ethel Booba.
Truly, Raffy Tulfo's 50th birthday party was a star-studded night. It remains to be seen, however, if the stars will continue to shine on the veteran broadcaster's celebrated career.
