GMA Network, in partnership with the French Government, hosted the workshop on Variety TV Shows, the first leg of the five regional training programs for Southeast Asian broadcasters.
The series which started last Monday, March 8, at the GMA Network Center, aimed to raise the level of expertise, thus, matching the international standards, and to encourage business opportunities with French production houses.
The major topic dwelt on variety programming, which was facilitated by Shelley McMorrow, television concept designer and production director of French and International productions, and Benoit De Lorme, producer, director and concept developer for short contents, comedies, and entertainment programs.
It will be recalled that GMA Network was the first Asian broadcaster to host the workshop on short television programs. This training was fundamental to the successful launch of the French Regional Program in Southeast Asia.
And in time for the 60th year of the Kapuso Network, it gladly renewed its partnership with the French Entertainment Industry through Dimitri Mendjisky, Regional Audiovisual Attaché for the French Embassy, to work together on improving the television landscape.
The series will run until December 2010, discussing television programs on youth, entertainment, short contents and new media, and will held in different Asian countries.
