Angeline Quinto on courting actor Coco Martin: "Di naman nanliligaw, pero inaamin ko na may paghanga talaga ako."

Star Power grand winner Angeline Quinto reacts to criticisms about her pronouncement that she's "courting" Indie Prince Coco Martin:

"Sa akin naman, 'pinapakita ko lang talaga ang totoong nararamdaman ko dun sa tao," she says. "Alangan naman na magpakaplastik ako, gusto ko lang na malaman ng mga tao yung totoong nararamdaman ko. Kumbaga, bakit naman ako magtatago e, talaga namang may paghanga ako sa kanya?"

Kilalang prangka at bukas sa kaniyang nararamdaman, naging mapakla sa panlasa ng iba ang nabitawang mga salita ni Angeline Quinto sa nakaraang panayam sa kanya ni Boy Abunda.

Sinabi ni Angeline na siya raw ang nanliligaw kay Coco Martion at di pa siya sinasagot nito.

Magkapareha si Angeline at Coco sa pelikulang You Light Up My Life ng Star Cinema, kung saan sa simula pa man ay aminado na ang  Star Power grand winner na hinahangaan niya ang kilalang indie actor.

Nainterview ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) nuong nakaraang Miyerkoles si Angeline sa isang MTV shoot ng kanyang bagong kanta na kasama sa Christmas album ng Star Records.

Agad tinanong ng PEP ang singer kung ano ang reaksyon niya sa maraming pagbibirong natatanggap niya.

"Sa akin naman, 'pinapakita ko lang talaga ang totoong nararamdaman ko dun sa tao," ang sabi ni Angeline.

"Alangan naman na magpakaplastik ako, gusto ko lang na malaman ng mga tao yung totoong nararamdaman ko.

"Kumbaga, bakit naman ako magtatago, e, talaga namang may paghanga ako sa kanya?

"Nanliligaw? Hindi naman, pero di ba sinasabi [nila], iba na ang panahon ngayon, babae na ang nanliligaw sa lalake?

"May mga kaibigan akong ganun, napagaya na yata ako," sabay tawa niyang sinabi.

"Dun sa ibang tao na naging pangit yung tingin sa pagkakasabi ko na ako ang nanliligaw, sana ay intindihin na lang nila. 

"Di naman nanliligaw, pero inaamin ko na may paghanga talaga ako kay Coco Martin."

SWEET. Hindi naman itinago ni Angeline sa PEP na habang nakikilala niya ang aktor ay mas marami siyang nakikitang magandang katangiang magugustuhan ng kahit na sinong babae sa isang lalake.

"Yung pagkakaibigan namin ni Coco ay okay naman. 

"Nung una medyo nagkakahiyaan pa kami pero habang tumatagal, lalo ko siyang nakikilala at ganun din naman siya sa akin.

    aha db si regine viva artist dn?nd nman sya gma records eh even c mark at rachel ann.check nyo po kc discography ng bawat singers pra malaman nyo kung cnu yung mas marami tlagang awards.

    di kayo naawa sa kanya palaging nagpapansin para mapag usapan, pilit idinikit pangalan nya kay songbird at ginagaya pa nya si songbird. wawa naman. kung paramihan ng platinum albums wala pang makakatalo sa dami ng platinum albums nina Regine, Ogie, Kyla, Janno at Rachel. Even Marian has 2 platinum albums, Mark Herras has 2 platinum albums. Ilang beses na ding nag concert si Jonalyn sa music museum at moa. take note punong puno mga concert nya di gaya sa mga concert ng mga trying hard singers ng asap na puro flop. Aminin dahil totoo. Si sarah lang naman ang nag exceel kaya lang hindi naman homegrown talent ng abs kundi iang VIVA Artist at viva ang producer. At inaangkin nyo pa.

    i just wonder kung mtagal ng talunan ang ASAP, eh y nawala ang SOP at naging PP?sk pansin k lng dn n mas may career ang mga singers ng ASAP kesa sa PP lalo n yung mga bago, wla akong nppanood n inawardan ng gold,platinum at diamond awards sa mga singers ng PP eh.ska yung singers ng PP prang nd ko rin nriringgan n ngppromote ng concerts even sa radio stations ala rin akong nppkinggan n kanta nila.kya cguro todo effort s pagbirit ang mga singers ng PP kc hanggang dun na lang ata ang outlet nila,nkkawa tuloy c rachel ann at mark b. parang nd n cla visible s mga concert scenes.i think nd kyang tapatan ng protege singer ang naabot ni angeline now kc til now wla p dng album to think ilang months n natapos yung protege.ska y PP always need to use nametag when they perform?til now nd p rin b cla ntatandaan ng taong nanood ng PP?

    natatawa naman ako sa sinabi na she is one of the belters in the industry and one of the best singers. Paano maging belter siya hindi naman siya maka biret ng sobrang taas pang low key lang ang kaya. Tingnan nyo ang asap sobrang tagal ng talunan hindi maka ahon sa pagigigng talunan. Kahit nag guest pa ang isang amerikano at si thea talo pa rin ang asap.

    Angeline is a truly wonderful singer. It amazes me how sense of humor can be misinterpreted by narrow minded people. She clarified it herself that she only admires Coco for his wonderful qualities and obviously she is not courting him. She is just lightening the conversation by cracking some jokes. Surely she is not the most class singer or artist in the industry. She started being nothing. She is not fluent when it comes to speaking english. She was not reared by the most affluent parents. Don't you know she was sold for P10,000.00 by her mother. She has endured so many trials and so much pain growing up but she has been able to triumph on all these adversities because she is a wonderful and beautiful person. She is wonderful the way she is. She will learn eventually so give her time. Surely the pessimistic posters here are the classiest and most affluent here hehehe.

    nanliligaw sa lalaki? Ang cheap. Ito ang singer na walang ka-class class, pati kung sumagot sa mga interview, nonsense. No breeding.. Sorry, we are entitled to our own opinion.

    Let us also support Angeline. She is not a threat to your favorite star. She is already one of the biggest stars that we have and Angeline is only starting. It was never her intention to be compared to your favorite star. It was the press who compared them and it was never her intention to use your idol in anyway. Comparisons will always be inevitable anyway so you have to understand that it is the way of this industry. Regine was compared to all artist and rising divas even your idol when she was beginning. But Regine never looked at her as a threat, rather, she supported her all the way in the same manner that she is supporting Angeline. We should all learn to be respectful of these artist. As an artist, your idol would never want to wish negatively against Angeline because she knows she also worked so hard and deserves the success she is now receiving.

    The shallowness that persist in the country in terms of network wars, idol wars etc. leaves nothing but a negative impression on all of us Filipinos. Yes there are Kapamilyas, Kapuso, Kapatid....different networks....different idols, but remove all of that, we are all Filipinos. Instead of pulling each other down, let us learn to help one another to achieve each others dreams. Let us learn to appreciate and tolerate our artist. Let us not focus on things that separate us as a people, instead let us learn to focus on things that make us together as a people.

    I guess that is the downfall of a lot of Filipinos and that is the desire to get the upper hand on other people without thinking if we are already doing something against another person. In this life, what matters is not how far you've gone or what you've achieved. What matters most is the relationships you've had with other people and how you've made a difference in the lives of the people around us. Unless we would learn to be more selfless, then the potential we've always had as a great race would remain nothing but a possibility.

    christinaskater, Very well said. Pero ang dami naman kasing nega at un-pro dito sa pep. Perfecto kasi sila at mga talented.. but don't you worry Angeline with all those evil comments thrown on you.. but in return more blessings will come on your way, at kasabay ng BAD KARMA at pagbagsak ng mga maninira sayo. Though comments lang yan but in the sense nananakit ka ng kapwa..believe me karma ang kapalit nyan. Magbagong buhay na kayong mga nega dyan at pasko na at papalit na ang 2012.

    I also have to say that people don't misinterpret Angeline as being materialistic etc. She is a naive lady that will continue to improve. She will learn and learn. It's hard kasi as she continues to learn she is under constant public scrutiny. Some radical fans of one famous singer dislike her because she is a threat to their beloved star and will continue to pounce on Angeline to pull her down. But you can't put a good woman down. Karma nalang ang mangyayari sa mga patuloy na maninira sa kanya. I heard ABS-CBN is planning to produce a soap opera for Angeline next year as well so cross fingers it would push through! Haters change for the better! Don't hate just collaborate! To the fans of that famous singer who continuously berate Angeline, stop doing it. She is already one of the biggest superstars in the country and they are totally different artist. If your beloved Idol loves Angeline and vice versa, hopefully you would also do the same! Who knows they may have a movie together, record a duet together

    The voice of Angeline is absolutely beautiful. She is not just one of the best belters in the country. She is one of the best singers in the country. She still has so many things to improve on, but as long as she is willing to learn and improve on herself, she will surely continue to shine. Maraming nagmamahal sa iyo Angeline kasi totoo ka na tao. Mahal mo ang pamilya mo. Mahal mo ang pagkanta. Marami kang napapaligaya na mga tao at marami pang patuloy na magmamahal at susuporta sa iyo! Maraming pupuna sayo kasi you are not the most perfect. Pero the adversity and challenges you've faced in your life will continue to make you improve and become a better person. Just continue to sing for the glory and honor of GOD! I heard sobrang religious ka and you would always sing with the choir kaya blessed ka ni GOD!

    Angeline just continue to focus on your career. People give her some slack. She has a crush on Coco and is just using some humor to lighten things up. Kayo ba never kayo nagka crush. And in case malaman ng crush mo na crush ka niya then maganda to handle it with a sense of humor. Obviously Angeline is not courting Coco. She is a wonderful role model to the youth to never stop dreaming! I love Angeline because she is innately kind-people put a lot of malice on everything that she does, but she is genuinely kind. She may not be the classiest celebrity and she is jologs and is still rough around the edges but believe me when she is polished she will be a diamond shining like no other.

    There are some fans who are so threatened by Angeline. All artist when they start get compared to the big stars of that generation. Even the most love artist endured a lot of intrigues and comparisons before. Pero even if there are a lot of fans who are so protective of their idol, do know it's not appropriate to do some black propaganda on Angeline like claiming that she is something that she is not. Filipinos are insanely talented and we should not compare and compare and pull each other down. Instead let us learn to appreciate the uniqueness of each artist and be happy for their success.

    Congratulations Angeline for all the success! Platinum album, sold out concerts here and abroad, world-class performances, an up coming movie entitled "You Light Up My Life" with Mr. Coco Martin...so many achievements since winning "Star Power"! All I can say is there are so many crabs here in pep! Guys just be happy for her. The girl works so hard and she deserves all the success she deserves.

    Sira talaga itong babaeing ito...PAsalamat ka gentleman yan c Coco kasi hindi ka pa naman maganda at buti nga hindi ka nya binabastos...Ewan ko sayo, bakit pa self pity ka naman dyan eh kabago-bago mong artista gusto mo na kaagad maging sikat!
