Julie Anne San Jose is a T-shirt-and-sneakers girl.
“I’m simple,” she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
And she channels that fashion statement through Team Manila, which carries her shirt line My JAPS.
“I’ve always known Team Manila even before pa, e.
“It was actually my idea to have a project with them.
“It’s really an honor for me working with them, and they’re also very welcoming…
“They also help me out.”
The “collaboration” gave birth to a collection of shirts featuring the singer's intials JAPS, and a charity component.
"It's my way of giving back to the fans," she says. "I met some of them. Some are close to me as well. I get to bond with them also, ‘tapos I have a meet-and-greet every time…like, kunwari, may mga fans na nag-out of town, mini-meet ko sila."
A portion of the sales will go to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.
Back to her style, she's into fuss-free fashion.
“Nagbibihis lang po talaga ako kapag kelangan sa okasyon. If not, I just wear T-shirts. This is me.”
When it’s time to dress up, she relies on her stylist, “pero hindi po talaga ako yung very flashy.”
When asked about her fashion icon, she answered, “Lucy Hale [of U.S. series Pretty Little Liars],” who, like her, loves to add surprises to her usually straightforward outfits.
