They say all good things come in threes.
Filipino talent continues to rule in the realm of American television as Cycle 18 of Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) comes to a close.
Today, May 31 (May 30 if you’re in the US), a new victor was crowned by the famous supermodel, who happens to be wearing another creation from Pinoy talent Rajo Laurel.
The mosaic-like beige gown on Tyra comes from the designer’s Gold collection—a turtleneck and long-sleeved piece fully embellished with glass beads in various cuts and sizes.
This would be the third time for Tyra to wear Rajo Laurel on the show.
The first one she wore, coincidentally, on the same episode where works of another local designer—Francis Libiran—were donned by the model contestants for their photo shoot.
It was a graphic panel dress from Rajo Laurel's 2009 Insects collection.
The second, worn earlier in May, was a belted black asymmetric number with gold chest details from the 2011 Russe Holiday collection.
A Twitter post from the official account of House Of Laurel—Rajo’s fashion empire—revealed photographs of all three dresses.
In the caption, Rajo Laurel thanked ANTM producer Michael Carandang—a Filipino relative of his—for giving him the opportunity to showcase his works in the mainstream fashion landscape abroad.
There is no word yet whether Rajo Laurel 's work will appear again in the upcoming season of the show, which is dubbed America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19 College Edition.
