Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez—wife, mother, and city councilor of Tacloban, Leyte—manages to keep herself fashionable all the time. She finds that jewelry and accessories are important to spruce up simple outfits. “Medyo minsan may mga dresses or attires na kahit simple lang siya pero pag nilagyan mo na siya ng magandang necklace or earrings or maybe a cocktail ring, mukha na siyang may dating, so [jewelry] really adds a lot.”

“Yes, [mahilig] naman pero not naman iyong overly over [expensive].

“I like real jewelry. I also like fashion jewelry.

“It depends, ‘no, if it’s well made and, of course, sa outfit natin.”

Cristina likes to use jewelry and accessories to spruce up simple outfits.

“Medyo minsan may mga dresses or attires na kahit simple lang siya pero pag nilagyan mo na siya ng magandang necklace or earrings or maybe a cocktail ring, mukha na siyang may dating, so [jewelry] really adds a lot.”

Her favorite pieces among her collection are two brooches given to her by her husband, Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez.

“I have a favorite butterfly, two butterfly brooches na favorite ko na gawa ni Jul B. Dizon.

“Kasi bigay ng husband ko, kaya ko favorite.

“It’s beautiful. It’s classic. Pang-classic blazers or classic dresses.”

Investing in jewelry, says Cristina, is important for women, especially if they go out a lot or they enjoy dressing up for special occasions.

“Actually, [importante mag-invest] kasi ang alahas ano iyon, e, it’s something na nakakadagdag ng beauty sa babae, di ba?”

What was the first ever piece of jewelry/accessory she purchased for herself?
