FASHION FACE-OFF: Cherie Gil and Nikki Valdez try the androgynous look

Who wore it better? Cherie Gil rocked the Rajo Laurel white beaded jumpsuit at the Esquire Ball in October 2011 and Nikki Valdez wore it to the 35th Gawad Urian Awards last June.

Androgynous dressing is not always an easy and acceptable style.

It usually requires a lot of confidence and a good amount of fashion science to pull off. (What specific look will work for me? Will the clothes’ silhouette match my body type? Should I cut my hair super short to make the look work just right?)

But it seemed to be a breeze for actresses Cherie Gil and Nikki Valdez, who sported the same embellished white jumpsuit by designer Rajo Laurel at separate events.

Both actresses are known to be capable of portraying a variety of roles onscreen, so it was no surprise that they were able to rock this tricky outfit too, using polar opposite makeup choices.

CHERIE'S SOFT TOUCH. Cherie’s look fell more on the feminine side when she wore the sheer-paneled outfit to the Esquire Ball held October last year.

It was quite a timely choice for the veteran actress as fashion was dominated by sheer fabrics that season.

She complemented her outfit with neutral makeup—another major beauty trend that season—and a slick hair bun that left her bangs side swept, which kept a touch of shy femininity to her face.

She accessorized the already eye-catching attire with a pair of extra-long dangling gold earrings that followed the vertical flow of the jumpsuit’s intricate beadwork, a gold clutch, a solitary pink sapphire ring on her right hand, and a pair of chrome peep-toe heels.

NIKKI'S FOXY LOOK. Meanwhile, Nikki tapped into her inner Goth as she attended the 35th Gawad Urian Awards just last June.

Her flair for androgyny was very visible when she put her pixie-cut hair up into a sleek 'do.

She opted for dark colors for her eyes and a plum shade for her lips drawing attention more to her face than to the bottom half of her body.

The crystal earrings she wore as an accessory were shorter than those of Cherie's, which kept her stance in balance since the outfit was just too much for her height.

She complemented her dark look with kohl nail polish and a silver clutch that blended well with the jumpsuit’s beadwork.

Both Cherie and Nikki looked sensational in their jumpsuits,  but who do you think rocked the androgynous look better?
