On September 1, the annual Star Magic Ball returned to the Rizal Ballroom of the Shangri-La Hotel Makati, where the event has been held three times over the past five years.

As expected, the star-studded gathering was a media event, not to mention a fans night, with fans patiently standing behind the velvet ropes to catch a glimpse of their idols.

The red carpet did not disappoint. The night saw one debonair dude after another and one stunning lady after another passing past, in plain black or plain white or black-and-white formal attire, which was the chosen color for the evening.

BEST DRESSED IN BLACK. Bea Alonzo undoubtedly stole the show when she stepped on the red carpet in a black Rajo Laurel ballgown.

It had soft meshing underneath but was fully covered with authentic French duck feathers.

Kaye Abad and Nikki Valdez also made heads turn in custom-made gowns, again by Rajo.

Kaye wore a sexy sleeveless dress with a fully fringed, floor-length skirt.

The top portion of the dress was of fine, sheer material, making for a huge peek-a-boo, the select portions of which—think breast area and torso—satin panels were used for cover.

Nikki also looked fierce in black. The top half of her gown was made of soft leather, with graphic cutout panels.

The skirt was a layer of tulle fabrics in black and olive green.

Andi Eigenmann was the envy of many as she showed off a really sexy body just months after giving birth to daughter Ellie. 

Her black Sassa Jimenez gown featured cutouts on the top half, and a thigh-high slit in the center of the skirt.

The crowd was in awe of two of the evening’s guests: Dawn Zulueta and Carmina Villarroel.

Dawn’s beauty was complemented by her long-sleeved Givenchy gown.

While Hot Momma awardee Carmina looked youthful in a strapless Paul Cabral design.
