Celebrities from Hollywood, like Nicole Richie and Blake Lively, are just among the few who have been snapped by the paparazzi sporting the maxi dress.

This style is fast becoming a fad among our local stars, such as Maxene Magalona and Maja Salvador.

Both wearing a similar striped one-shoulder design from European fashion brand Warehouse, they showed how versatile a maxi is.

Maxene used hers as a costume for the 1970s theme of Preview Best Dressed Ball on July 8.

The former Pahiram Ng Isang Ina star wore it with blue hoop earrings, a floral paisley printed clutch bag, and black satin sandals, channeling the decade's hippie vibe.

To complete the look she styled her hair with big-barrel curls and painted her nails black and gold.

Maja, on the other hand, took hers from day to night.

On September 12, she attended the opening of Chic Nails Salon and Spa in Quezon City in the afternoon.

Later that evening, she proceeded to The Podium mall for the block screening of her launching film Thelma.

She had hair tied into a slick ponytail, popped a pair of gold hoop earrings, and wore leather platform heels.

She also carried a brown leather tote bag to fit in all the stuff she needed for the entire day.
