Grazilda lead star Glaiza de Castro would rather lounge inside the house during non-busy days than go out and party. The 22-year-old actress-singer loves to read books, listen to music, and watch films whenever she's not busy with showbiz.

Local rock fans recognize actress Glaiza de Castro as the person locked up inside a sanitarium in the "Disconnection Notice" music video of rock band Pupil.
The opening scene shows the 22-year-old actress quietly reading a copy of the classic science fiction novel titled Camp Concentration, written by American author and poet Thomas M. Disch.
In real life, Glaiza is not far from the role she portrays in the music video. She loves to read books, aside from being a great fan of music and films.
"Nabasa ko lately 'yong On The Road ni Jack Kerouac, tapos Trainspotting and Porno ni Irvine Welsh. Hindi talaga ako mahilig magbasa pero once na-fascinate ako dun sa story, tuloy-tuloy na 'yon. Hindi nga ako nakapagbasa ng Harry Potter, e, yong mga ganun, pero nakapagbasa ako ng Twilight," said Glaiza in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last September 3 at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.
Reading books while in the middle of a shoot or taping, however, is not an ideal setting for the Grazilda lead star. Glaiza said she prefers to catch up on her reading while comfortably marooned at home and free from any distractions.
Taking up reading as both a hobby and interest was a conscious effort for the Valenzuela City-born singer-actress after she wasn't able to continue her special college education due to her hectic showbiz schedule.
"Nakapag-enroll ako sa [University of the Philippines] Open University program pero hindi ko rin napagpatuloy," said Glaiza, who took up Associate in Arts.
Glaiza educates herself by interacting with people, reading books, widening her knowledge of music, and watching independent and commercial films.
"Gumagawa rin ako ng sarili kong mga kanta, pag kunwari wala akong magawa sa bahay, nagre-record ako and when the time comes gusto ko silang ma-record 'yon nang maayos, kahit pa sabihin na hindi sila pang-commercial, gusto ko lang siyang ma-release."
Glaiza is currently listening to the music of British singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae and local underground favorite Up Dharma Down.
"Minsan may mga music ako from the '60s, like The Doors, siyempre mga classic. 'Tsaka mga soundtrack din ng films," continued Glaiza. "I discover new music and artists through friends and nandiyan na ang Internet, e. Madali nang maghanap and to read about new music that's been coming out and even old tunes that came out before."
