Actress Bubbles Paraiso never hesitated when asked by good friend Bianca King to participate in the music video of budding young musician Rez Toledo—better known by his alias Somedaydream.

Bubbles's role, however, has nothing to do with acting or just about anything that would require her to face the camera.

What Bianca wanted Bubbles to do was to stay in the background and apply makeup on the music video lead star Jasmine Curtis Smith and Rez.

Not really a part you would expect from someone who is so used to the spotlight.

"I love makeup and I love doing makeup!" Bubbles excitedly told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), while quietly watching the video shoot in one corner of the spacious garage turned set.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) visited the shooting of Somedaydream's music video for the single "Hey Daydreamer" held last April 5 at the Mahogany Place 3 village in Taguig City.

"It's something that I've wanted to do," she added. "But I only got to do it for the love of my friends."

Doing it for the "love of friends" means rendering her service for free, which is of course a non-issue for the Nita Negrita cast member.

"Ang lokohan nga namin [ni Bianca], parang you can pay me with coffee," laughed Bubbles.

MAKEUP AS PASSION. Bubbles's love of makeup started during her much younger years. Joining the world of modeling and show business encouraged that passion even more as she met people who earned a living by making others look good.

"Bata pa lang ako mahilig na ko mag-makeup. Mga seven pa lang ako, I would watch my mom and lagi rin akong naglalagay ng makeup nun. But because of modeling, kasi, di ba, I started when I was ten or eleven, I worked with all these makeup artists," said Bubbles.

"So I was able to pick up yung mga techniques nila, and every time na may photo shoot I always inquire, 'Para saan 'tong brush na 'to? Para saan 'tong ganyan?' Ayon, natuto ako and I was able to pick their good techniques and I applied it to myself," she beamed.

Taking up a formal lesson on makeup intrigues Bubbles although enrolling now seems remote, given her showbiz schedule and priority.

"I actually want to study makeup talaga talaga and really do it on the side aside from acting," confided Bubbles.

"Siguro I can do makeup on the side. Hopefully, five to ten years from now I'm still acting. But yeah, it's a nice sideline na I'm not just in front of the camera but I'm also behind it."

MAKEUP TO ENHANCE. Bubbles finds fulfillment in making others look and feel good. She is careful, however, not to totally conceal the natural features of a subject through application of various cosmetic products.
