One star who has been active in helping the country and the needy is Jolina Magdangal.

From being a Youth Ambassador in 2003, she is presently holding the same title to promote the projects of GMA Kapuso Foundation, which invites her to its activities.

"Alam niyo kasi, basta para sa mga bata, hindi ako nagdadalawang-isip..." she told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview during the opening of Summer Heat Wave Bazaar that featured Celebrity Ukay-Ukay.

In a matter-of-fact tone, answering the questions of PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), she talked about how helping others has been part of her showbiz life.

"Meron akong day care [noon].

This room, according to her, was called "Jolina's Little Angel," which was housed in Cradle of Love.

Jolens (her nickname) related, "Nagpapadala ako ng gamot.

These days, "Kinuha na rin nila yong mga bata," she said. But she intends to visit, whenever her schedule will permit, and donate.

The actress-singer said, "Masaya ako na ginawa ko 'yan 'tsaka 'yong ganito, haping-happy ako kasi alam ko na nakakatulong."

One of the goals on the horizon is to have that day care. "'Yon ang gusto kung mangyari," she exclaimed.

PEP could see from the lilt in her voice that Jolina truly finds joy in doing things for others.

A NEWFOUND SCENE. Of course, we asked her about Mark Escueta, who, by her admission, has brought her headlong into the band scene.

A recording artist since she was 14, Jolina finds the quite-frenzied atmosphere of her boyfriend's world refreshing.
