Of course, her colorful personality is far from either black or white. "Candid and crass" is the way she describes herself. But that jocular description fails to include her other incarnations as a loving wife, a sought-after TV host and stand-up comedienne, and an astute businesswoman who graduated as class valedictorian, magna cum laude, from the University of the Philippines' College of Mass Communication.

Here, she makes dramatic and striking use of black and white while experimenting with accent colors such as terracotta, russet, and periwinkle blue. Textures such as stones on the façade, meshed and wired furniture under the staircase, wicker pieces here and there, plus wide wooden planks, add an impish touch.
