Inset: Sylvia's elder bunch: (Clockwise) Juan Carlos (Arjo), will be Sylvia's future pilot if the lure of showbiz doesn't get in the way. Pia Marie (Pia), Sylvia's daughter by a former boyfriend, will be her future beauty queen. Maria Angela, then four months old in this picture, is the youngest daughter of character actress Sylvia Sanchez and businessman Arthur Atayde. Baby Gela, born 7.9 lbs. by Caesarian section at Medical City, has two sets of dimples and a pair of blue-gray eyes.

Recalling the early stage of her pregnancy, Sylvia says: "Basta lagi akong nagsisiksik kay Art noon. Plus, she remembers: "Kay Luke Mijares ng Southborder (band). Gustong-gusto ko naman ang mata noon."

These days, Gela is the family's center of attention. The older ones simply adore her.

And Gela knows how to mine the moment.

Incidentally, aside from her little Gela, Sylvia is also busy on three things: getting back to her 115-pound frame, resuming acting through the Tanging Yaman TV series, and attending twice-a-week Spanish lessons at the Poveda Learning Center.

"Hitting two birds with one stone 'yon na rin e," she smiles. "At the same time kasi, natututo ka ding mag-Ingles.

Typically, everything goes back to Gela. "Si Gela 'pag kausap ko, Spanish saka English!" the actress beams.
