This is Maryo J's place of retreat. After all, it has a pool, good food, several bathrooms, and lazy air. What's more, the community is welcoming. But these days, even with Pansol only two hours away from his QC home, he doesn't get to visit often. "Masuwerte na kung makapunta ako once a month. The home of director Maryo J. de los Reyes in Pansol, Laguna, exudes warmth and comfort without the fuss. It's filled with pieces that evoke good memories. Colleagues in the industry gave some of the stuff to him, the rest he acquired through years of collecting. "I used to run a coffee shop/art gallery called Flashlight, where we also sold religious items," he says.
When Flashlight closed after a year, the merchandise was kept in his city home. Eventually, the items were transferred to Pansol where, as these photographs show, they've found their place.
