If not for her baby bump, you wouldn't know that former sexy actress Ina Raymundo is on the way to having her fourth child. Nothing seems to have changed even on her eighth month of pregnancy.
The celebrity mom attributes her youthful looks to her parents.
"Siguro mana ako sa mommy and daddy ko na hanggang ngayon they still look good kahit 60 na 'yong dad ko, 'tapos mom ko is 55. Siguro ano, blessed din ako," she told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview after the press conference of Precious Hearts Romances Presents Midnight Phantom last week at 9501 Restaurant inside ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City. Ina plays the role of Denise Laurel's step mother in this series.
When asked how she maintains her figure after giving birth to three kids, she simply said, "I take care of myself."
NO TO BEAUTY TREATMENTS. The former Sabado Nights girl that all the boys admired in the early '90s doesn't consider cosmetic surgery or other beauty treatments necessary to keep her skin and body flawless.
"Hindi rin ako vain kasi. Takot ako na magpapa-derma palagi. I don't even go to a derma, I just take care of myself," explained Ina.
"Less is more for me," she added. "When I look at my mom, she's 55, and never siyang nagpa-derma or botox, but she still looks good. Basta mag-ayos ka lang, kailangang mag-ayos ka lang ng buhok mo, maganda ang buhok mo. Hindi mo na kailangang gumastos ng malaki."
According to Ina, she never endorsed any beauty clinic during the height of her career. Even now, if she's given an offer she'd have to give it a second thought.
So, parang paano? Parang pag-iisipan ko kahit na libre. Siyempre, magastos kung ikaw ang magbabayad. So, kahit sabihing libre lahat, pag-iisipan ko talaga, 'Kailangan ko ba talaga?'"
Another major reason, Ina said, "Takot ako. Takot akong galawin ang mukha ko, ewan ko kung bakit."
Ina says she may consider such treatments only when she starts aging.
"Siguro kapag 50 years old na ako, 'yan kasi medyo desperate ka na noon, di ba? Parang ang plano ko, kapag 50 na ako, isang major [treatment] na lang kaysa 'yong paunti-unti," she related.
For now, Ina says firmly, "Wala pa akong plano. We'll see."
KEEPING A HAPPY FAMILY. Ina's unfading beauty may also be because she's always surrounded by her beautiful kids—Erika, 8; Jacob, 6; and Mikaela, 2—and husband Bryan Portunak.
Ina told PEP, maintaining a close relationship with her husband is important to keep a happy family.
"Alam mo, ang talagang the best talaga, kailangan talaga best of friends kayong mag-asawa. Hindi ba, kasi, talagang kayo 'yong magkasama. Magkasama kayong magkukwentuhan mula umaga hanggang gabi bago kayo matulog. Kami ng asawa ko, talagang kuwentuhan lang kami nang kwentuhan. Para lang kaming barkada na kuwento nang kwento, non-stop."
Taking care of their children is an important source of joy every day.
"Kasi, kapag ako ang nanganak, talagang devoted mom ako. Basta ang mundo ko nagre-revolve lang around the baby and the kids. 'Yon ang buhay ko and I don't complain dahil 'yon ang gusto ko.... I love my kids so much, sobrang source of joy. Talagang, alam mo 'yon, nakakatuwa talaga kasi first day in the morning, una mong makikita 'yong anak mo. Ang saya-saya!"
Ina said it was not really hard to raise three children.
Her advice: "You know, you should always have a balance, di ba? Kailangan strict ka, assertive ka na when you say 'No', you have to mean it. But at the same time, you have to be fun-loving and 'yong cool. Parang alam nila na hindi ka lang monster and hindi ka lang kaibigan, kailangan mayroon balance talaga sa pagpapalaki ng bata."
