Young singer Charice Pempengco is back in the Philippines after her recent performance at the concert tribute for songwriter David Foster at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Click here to read related article)

Before her scheduled flight to the U.S. today, May 30, Charice had a short chat with the media yesterday, May 29, during a pocket press conference at the 9501 restaurant in ABS-CBN compound, Quezon City.

The Internet singing sensation, who just turned 15 last May 10, excitedly related her experiences during her guest appearances in Ellen and Oprah held last December and May, respectively.

ELLEN IS FUNNY. Charice described the Emmy-award winner Ellen DeGeneres as a funny person. She even added, "Alam n'yo po 'yon, mahilig po siya talaga siguro sa kids."

During her guest appearance on Ellen's show, people saw how Charice amazed the American TV host when she perfomed "I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls.

Ellen even said after her performance, "You're amazing! You're amazing! We just witnessed the beginning of this girl's career that we're gonna go, 'I was there, I saw her.' She is unbelieveable."

Words are not enough for Charice to say how grateful she is to Ellen for choosing her to be a guest on her show.

"Una po sa lahat, malaki po ang utang ng loob ko kay Ms. Ellen kasi siyempre, siya po ang unang nagpadala sa akin sa States," said the young singer.

She added, "Iba po yung feeling kasi siya po yung first show na pinag-guest-an ko po sa America. Siya rin po yung unang nakapagpadala po sa akin sa States, siyempre po kasi nag-guest ako sa kanyang show. Siyempre special din po sa akin lahat ng ginawa niya for me—lahat ng care, yung mga gift na binigay niya sa akin talagang inaalagaan ko."

Charice also shared one of the memorable experiences she had during that day—a dance showdown with Ellen.

"Hindi po ipinakita sa TV, pero sumayaw po kami [ni Ellen] pareho, e. Siguro in-edit na po, pero yung closing po, nag-showdown po kami. Una, yung sayaw niya, ‘tapos po chinallenge ko siya ng ganun [acts the dance move]. 'Tapos ayaw daw niya ng ganun."

DREAM COME TRUE. Compared to her guest appearance in Ellen's show, Charice said that her excitement doubled when she learned that she would perform on Oprah.

"Si Ms. Oprah naman po, siyempre talagang kilala ko na siya. Napapanood ko pa siya sa TV, ganun. Yung natanggap po namin yung show na ito, kumbaga yung excitement po namin sa Ellen, mas dumoble kasi iba po ito."

Charice said that she could not believe that she was finally meeting Oprah personally. "Kaya nga po ako napaiyak kasi parang hindi po ako makapaniwala na katabi ko siya. 'Tapos habang kumakanta po ako, kumbaga, nasa isip ko dapat i-impress ko siya kasi siyempre first Filipina po ako na nag-guest sa show niya," said Charice.

She added, "'Yon po kaya naiyak po ako kasi 'yong sinabi niya na sobrang humanga siya sa akin na sinabi niyang, ‘Wow, wow!' Kaya naiyak po ako, sinabi ko sa kanya na hindi po ako makapaniwala na niyayakap ko siya. Sobrang naiyak po ako noon as in lahat po ng audience umiiyak."
