Witness the band behind the hit songs "Chasing Cars," "Signal Fire," "Run," "Just Say Yes," and many more, in this one-night only concert on August 9, 2012, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Formed during the members' university days in Ireland, Snow Patrol’s debut album, Songs for Polarbears, gained them critical acclaim, as well as their follow-up album, When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear Up.
After being under an independent label for their first two albums, Snow Patrol went signed up with bigger recording labels that helped them gain commercial success with the single, "Run" under their third album, Final Straw.
Snow Patrol shot to even greater mainstream success with the release of their fourth album, Eyes Open, back in 2006.
The band’s immensely popular single, "Chasing Cars," is also from the said album, and was nominated as Best Single in the 2006 Grammy Awards. The same song was again nominated for a Grammy the following year, this time for Best Rock Song.
The album sold over 1 million copies in the United States and 1.6 million copies in the United Kingdom, making it the latter's best-selling album in 2006.
After taking a break from their back-to-back Final Straw and Eyes Open tours, Snow Patrol came out with a new album in 2008 called A Hundred Million Suns, followed by the album Up to Now, a compilation of their greatest hits for the past 15 years.
The compilation album featured 30 tracks, three of which are brand new original songs.
Fast forward to 2011, Snow Patrol, now composed of members Gary Lightbody on vocals and rhythm guitar, Johnny Quinn on drums, Nathan Conolly on lead guitar, Paul Wilson on bass, and Tom Simpson on keyboards, released their latest album, Fallen Empires, which spawned the singles "Called Out in the Dark," "This Isn’t Everything You Are," "New York," and "In the End."
The new album features a new sound for the band, while still keeping the experience unmistakably their own.
"We wanted to make a massively ambitious record," says singer Gary Lightbody in a release, "a record unlike any other we've made before.
"We started writing songs that were more playful, even rawer than before. We were brave enough to do what we wanted as a band, rather than what convention dictated to us."
