"Hindi ko yata kaya yung parang every day, iintindihin mo yung problema ng iba't ibang tao ng QC [Quezon City]...," said Ciara Sotto honestly in  explaining why politics is the farthest thing from her mind.

Although she's considered the Miss Congeniality in her family, and certainly is the most popular due to her being in showbiz, the youngest child of Tito Sotto and Helen Gamboa thinks it's not her cup of tea.

She continued, "Kunyari councilor ka, nakita ko yung pressure... Hindi naman siya ungrateful job kasi nakakatulong ka, tinutulungan ka rin. Parang ganun yung dating sa akin. Pero not really for me... My brother [Gian Sotto], puwede, e,  kasi galing nun makisama 'tsaka laging gustong tumulong..."

Her sister Lala is a third-term Councilor in the 3rd District of Quezon City; her brother Gian will vie for a councilor post in the May 2010 elections.

Another thing she can't take about politics is the "pamumulitika," which she describes as "grabe!"

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked: "What kind of accusation is she expecting to surface?"

Her answer: "Dati, dami.... Like, the affair with mama [Zsa Zsa Padilla]. It's just like, what? I am even close to her."

Two years ago, a rumor claimed that her dad was spotted with the Divine Diva in Hong Kong, and that was supposedly why her mom flew to Las Vegas. Another reason for her mom's departure was Ciara's alleged pregnancy.

She could only shake her head and laugh at those unfounded reports. Ciara recounted, "Close kami ni Mama Zsa Zsa sa ASAP pa lang. Tumatawa lang siya, sabi ni Mama, 'Sobrang weird.' And we're being thrown the not-so-good stuff then. Example, when I left for Vegas, I couldn't stay kahit elections, kasi yung working visa ko, hindi ko pa nakukuha. 'Tapos, nanganak daw ako, oh no!"

Her family never got to find out where the tittle-tattle originated. And now that her dad is seeking reelection in the Senate, she anticipates another round of intrigues.

She said, "They come up with things, so I'm sure that this time, they'll come up with something new, and it's going to be proven wrong din. Ganun naman talaga, kapag hindi totoo, e, di ba? Yung totoo, balik nang balik..."

Recalling how the rumor affected her family, she related, "My dad was laughing kasi parang, what... No connection at all."

Ciara added that she's learned to deal with these false reports  nonchalantly. "Kasi ang tagal ko na rin... Siguro when I was younger, sobra, parang na-hurt ako, lalo na pag yung dad ko yung tinitira."

But enough of politics...

Ciara is presently maximizing her stay in Manila, while waiting for the opportunity to work again in Las Vegas. She's praying hard that a stint with Society of Seven (SOS), the singing group of Lani Misalucha, would land on her lap.
