Divina Geronimo, mother of pop superstar Sarah Geronimo, wants her daughter to be extra careful when it comes to heart matters so as not to jeopardize her pending personal goals.

"Kami po, lagi kaming nagpi-pray na sana po in His time at saka minsan po, hindi din kasi nakikita sa edad, e. Minsan po tinatanong mo din kung kaya na ba niya emotionally. Kasi po ang prayer namin, God's will, sana po isa lang, hindi 'yong paiba-iba... Kung hindi ka sigurado... Hindi ko naman po kinukuwestiyon 'yong ibang mga bata, pero kailangan maging maingat ka. Kailangan nag-iisip hindi lang po 'yong puro emosyon," Mommy Divine said last night, January 7, at Sarah's post-Christmas and thanksgiving party for the entertainment press at the clubhouse of St. Charbel Executive Village in Quezon City.

The statement was a response to nagging speculations concerning Sarah's romantic life following talks linking her to actor Rayvier Cruz. Sarah's parents are known to be strict, with both mom and dad having a say in their daughter's personal and professional affairs.

"Siyempre po, hindi maiaalis na merong gustong lumigaw, kaya lang ang dami po kasing kailangang i-consider muna. Kasi nakakahiya po sa mga taong hindi nabibigyan ng chances. Kasi hindi naman po lahat nabibigyan ng chance na katulad ng sa kanya," continued Sarah's mom.

KNOWING HER LIMITS. Sarah confessed there are times when she feels stifled both by her parents' overprotectiveness and by the limitations brought by fame and her celebrity status.

"Honestly, may ganung pakiramdam [the feeling of being controlled]. Kasi kumbaga, ang dami mong gustong ma-experience, hindi naman po siyempre 'yong mga masasama. Kumbaga, gusto mong hawakan 'yong mundo mo. Pero siyempre, may mga trabaho ka and may responsibilidad ka," said Sarah, who considers 2009 a good year, as shown by the number of successful projects and endorsements that came her way.

Sarah fully comprehends, however, where her mother is coming from and as a good daughter, she doesn't see the need to hide anything from her. "Alam po niya lahat," said Sarah.

A blooming young woman at 21, Sarah confessed that the thought of being with someone excites her. During her solo major concert titled Record Breaker held last November 7 at the Araneta Coliseum, Sarah playfully yet meaningfully remarked "Kung sino ka man, dumating ka na!" at the end of a ballad number.

"Siyempre nabi-visualize ko kung paano ba ko bilang isang girlfriend," she confessed. "Pero nakikita ko nga po na hindi pa mangyayari kasi ang dami pang priorities. 'Yong pag-aaral [home study program] nga lang po nahihirapan na ako pagsabayin."
