Hosting a cooking show is good timing for Sam Oh.
It came when she started to learn cooking at home, together with her mom who loves to prepare Korean food.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and some entertainment writers got to hear a few things about how Sam started her career as a host.
She related her story at the pocket press conference prepared for her and Chef Sau Del Rosario’s new show Sarap to Heart at Napa restaurant on Tomas Morato, Quezon City, last May 11.
Korean-born Sam first tried out hosting a few years ago.
She was Monsour Del Rosario’s co-host at a Filipino-Korean Cultural Exchange Festival held at the Rizal Coliseum in Manila.
As a student then at the De La Salle University, Sam did not have experience in hosting.
She recalled a moment when, “I was crying, may mascara sa face ko. Then, nagpapa-picture ako!
“It was so funny!”
Little did Sam know that this funny moment would start her passion for hosting.
PERFECT TIMING. Since her first hosting stint, every opportunity that came her way seemed to be perfect timing.
After she graduated, Sam auditioned to host a new show on ETC channel.
Luckily, she got hired and hosted the defunct lifestyle show called Rated Oh! (2005) for three years.
She also started her DJ career at former Hit FM 99.5, together with now Boys Night Out DJ Sam YG.
But when her co-host got suspended and moved to another radio station, Sam was given a replacement show. She decided soon, however, to leave her radio jock career for good.
