A first-time traveler to the USA, teen actress Julia Montes is excited to be part of the One Kapamilya Go and Teleserye Royals U.S. tours of The Filipino Channel starting this month.

"Super excited! Siyempre sobrang saya ko and lalo pa kasama ko si Kathryn [Bernardo]. So, sobrang magbo-bonding kami doon," said Julia when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got a chance to talk to her at the Chic Nails Spa branch opening in Katipunan Ave., Quezon City on September 12.

The Kapamilya star has spent the last few days preparing for her departure on Friday, September 16.

"Nakakuha na kami ng visa and okay na siya. Kumbaga, kulang na lang is impake. Yun na lang and then magfa-fly na," she beamed with excitement.

Julia and the other stars who are part of the tour will get to visit major cities like New York, San Francisco, San Diego and the states of Alaska and Hawaii.

Is there any famous landmark she's looking forward to seeing?

"Actually, wala naman akong particular na gustong mapuntahan. Actually, gusto ko lang talaga ma-enjoy hangga't maari lahat ng mapupuntahan namin."

She and her Mara Clara co-star Kathryn Bernardo will be performing songs for the TFC audiences.

"Singer ako doon," Julia quipped.

"[Sa 'Mara Clara' duet with Kathryn,] Carol Banawa yung range ko.

"Tapos yung 'Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso,' Toni Gonzaga naman yung range. Lahat talaga matataas. Singer talaga," she added, joking about her ability to belt out high notes.

Julia hopes to make the Filipinos abroad happy with her performance.

"Sana kahit saglit ma-feel nila na pamilya kami, kapamilya nila kami."

SHOPPING ABROAD. When asked if she's scared to go on a long haul flight, Julia answered: "Hindi ako kinakabahan sumakay ng eroplano. Mas kinakabahan ako sa magiging gastos ko doon."

While the opportunity calls for a grand shopping adventure with all the stylish shops and unique finds in the States, the 16-year-old Growing Up star—who considers herself quite a cheapskate—said she won't be splurging her hard-earned cash on stuff she doesn't need.
