The TV and radio stations will go off-air. The movie houses, malls, bars and restaurants, and other gimmick hubs will be closed. And the celebrities will have nothing on their schedules and will take some time to rest and relax.
Most of them will be hitting the beach to sunbathe and swim, chill out, and have fun under the sun! Where are they headed? PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) gives you the top destinations of the stars for Holy Week.
BORACAY, AKLAN. Its claim to fame is its powdery white sand. Aside from the beach, Boracay also offers a lively night life. Swim and sunbathe during the day, party from dusk 'till dawn. If you have plans of going to Bora, include star-sighting in your list of activities because a lot of celebrities will definitely be there!
Janno Gibbs: "The whole family will be in Boracay. It's my daughter Alyssa's 18th birthday and she wants to celebrate it on the beach. Magsasama lang siya ng ten close friends niya. We'll give her a simple debut party on the beach."
Katrina Halili: "Gusto kong mag-unwind kasi sunud-sunod ang mga naging trabaho ko since January. Kasama ko si Cristine Reyes na rarampa sa beach na naka-bikini lang! It's also a time for me to rest kasi nga everyone knows na may sakit ako. Baka gumaling ako nang konti kapag nakapagpahinga ako."
Say Alonzo: "I'll go to Boracay this summer just to unwind and have fun."
Keempee de Leon: "Parati naman akong nasa Boracay during Holy Week. Kasama ko mga barkada ko at inaabangan nila ang paglalakad naming half-naked sa beach. Mga one week ako dun."
Carmi Martin: "I'll just stay in Manila for the Holy Week. And if I have time, I'll go to Boracay."
Boy Abunda, Jeremy Marquez, Cristine Reyes also have plans of going to Bora. And if Maui Taylor, Gwen Garci, and Michelle Madrigal will stick to the same travel plans they had last year—you'll likely spot them walking along the shore!
Mactan Island, Cebu. The place has almost everything—a beach, a garden, a mini-zoo, and of course, the amenities and luxury of a hotel. And since it's a coral island, it's one of the best spots for scuba diving. And who would want to try Cebu?
Abby Cruz: "I love the beach so much. Baka pumunta ako sa Cebu with my friends. Pinatitigil nga nila ako sa pagpapa-tan because of the show I'm in. But I will make this my last tan for the year."
Margarette Wilson: "Probably here in Manila, but we're flying to Cebu for work. It's gonna be in Shangri-La Mactan, so at the same time I work and I get to relax."
Laguna and Batangas. People who want to soak in water every summer frequent these two provinces. Laguna is known for its resorts, and of course, Pagsanjan Falls. Batangas, on the other hand, has it stretch of beaches plus Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. And the good thing about Laguna and Batangas is they're both just a few hours drive from Manila. Look who's going on a roadtrip.
Mark Herras: "Nasa Laguna, at magre-rent kami ng private pool. Ganun kami parati ng mga barkada ko. Kadalasan kaming mga taga-StarStruck ang magkakasama. Bonding time namin ‘yon at pahinga na rin kasi sobra kaming masisipag magtrabaho."
