Seeing the Perge Ruins, the remnants of an early Greek civilization, was something of a hair-raising experience, says Jeffrey: “Medyo nakakakilabot kasi ’yong first Greek civilization. Ito ’yong city hall nila. Pero ang galing, kasi nape-preserve nila kahit papaano.” (YES! March 2007 issue)

Jeffrey and Arnee Hidalgo had no idea what to expect when they were invited to perform at the Filipiniana Nights of the International Telecommunications Union in Turkey.

On the plane, the singing siblings asked fellow passengers for tips on how to spend time in that country. This turned out to be unnecessary. Turkey, with its uncommon blend of European and Asian influences, had more than enough tourist attractions to keep them busy.

“Of all our out-of-the-country trips,” Jeffrey recalls, “ito ’yong pinaka-nag-enjoy kami, kasi ang ganda ng sights. ’Tsaka, diyan ’yong Byzantine Empire, e.”

The two spent time in the Turkish capital, Istanbul—where the Filipiniana Nights took place—and in the picturesque city of Antalya from November 11 to 16, 2006.
