Ikinasal na ang other half sa comedy tandem na Ariel & Maverick kahapon, January 28, sa Conservatory ng The Manila Peninsula sa Makati City. Ang partner ni Ariel Villasanta na si Maverick Relova ay ikinasal sa longtime girlfriend nitong si Charisse Utuanis.
Ang motif ng kasal ay pink and violet, pero namumukod-tangi ang porma ni Maverick dahil hindi pa rin siya lumayo sa kanyang Maverick character na naka-oversized sunglasses, blonde hair, at over-the-top bling-blings. Pati ang bridal car ay may touch of Maverick pa rin—isang vintage na Chevrolet na kinulayan ng violet.
Ten years nang girlfriend ni Maverick si Charisse and it's time na raw na mag-settle down sila. Six months ang naging preparation nila for the wedding kung saan 170 guests ang imbitado nila—mostly family members, relatives, and close friends.
Sa pakikipag-usap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Maverick bago ang wedding ceremony, sinabi niya na hindi siya nakialam sa kung ano ang magiging look ng kanilang wedding ni Charisse. Lahat daw ay ipinaubaya niya sa kanyang bride. Ang naging role lang daw ng komedyante ay magbayad ng mga nagastos sa special day nilang dalawa.
"Everything was worked on by my bride. Nakipagtulungan siya with our wedding coordinator and wala akong pinapel kundi ang magbayad," nakangiting sabi ni Maverick.
"Simple but elegant wedding naman ang gusto namin," patuloy niya. "Pero kahit simple pala, magastos pa rin. Pero nothing is too expensive for this special day. This is what I promised Charisse and we will make it a very memorable day for us."
Marami ang nagtaka kung bakit hindi ang comic partner ni Maverick na si Ariel ang kinuha niyang best man. Sumikat kasi ang dalawa dahil sa nakakatawang tandem nila sa reality comedy show nila na The Misadventures of Maverick & Ariel sa ABC-5. Instead na si Maverick, Keempee de Leon ang tumayong best man niya.
"Mas matagal kasi ang pinagsamahan namin ni Keempee as compared to Ariel. Matagal na kaming magbarkada talaga ni Keempee," paliwanag ni Maverick.
"Sa mga hindi nakakaalam, mas older po si Ariel sa akin ng ilang taon!" sabay tawa niya. "Si Ariel, kinukuha ko siya as one of the ninongs, pero tumanggi siya. Kaya he's one of the groomsmen. Kung nagtampo si Ariel? Hindi naman. Yung friendship namin ni Ariel ay solid na. We're like brothers na. There's nothing na makakasira ng pagkakaibigan namin."
Dagdag ni Maverick, after ng wedding ay mukhang wala pa silang time ni Charisse na gawin ang plano nilang honeymoon dahil sasabak na kaagad sa taping si Maverick with Ariel sa GMA-7 action-adventure series na Joaquin Bordado. Sila ang comic relief sa bagong primetime series na ito ng Kapuso network starring Robin Padilla.
Aside sa taping nila ng Joaquin Bordado ay lilipad din sina Maverick at Ariel sa U.S. para i-shoot naman ang The Misadventures of Ariel & Maverick in America para sa GMA Films.
"Excited na kami ni Ariel to start filming kasi sa ibang bansa namin gagawin. Kaya nga sinabi ko na sa misis ko na pagpasensiyahan niya muna ang mister niya dahil sayang ang trabahong dumarating. Para na rin ito sa future ng pamilya namin," sabi ni Maverick.
Gusto na raw magkaroon ng anak ni Maverick kaya bago siya maging sobrang busy, overtime daw ang paggawa nila ng baby ng kanyang misis.
"We are not getting any younger kaya sana nga magkaroon na kami agad ng baby. Sana magbuntis agad si Misis," sambit ng comedian.
