Sa nakaraang Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night na naganap nitong December 28 ay kinumpirma mismo ni Ciara Sotto na sa January 2010 ang kasal nila ng kanyang non-showbiz boyfriend.
After four years of being together, handa nang pasukin ni Ciara ang pagiging maybahay ni Joe Oconer.
Ayon sa aktres, naging emosyonal ang kanyang pamilya lalo na ang butihing ina na si Ms. Helen Gamboa nang ipaalam nila ang balak nilang pagpapakasal.
"I really understand my mom, I don't blame her, I've been expecting that. Of course kahit naman ako, nagiging emotional din, mami-miss ko rin naman siya. Nung Christmas, nag-iyakan kami, umiyak siya sa card na 'binigay ko sa kanya, umiyak lang siya nang umiyak," ang kuwento ng bunso ng dating senador na si Tito Sotto.
Sa pagpapatuloy niya, "Sinabi namin ito sa family ko the night that he proposed. Si Daddy, pinipigil niya yung iyak niya, naka-smile 'tapos niyakap niya ako."
Isang pribadong kasal na kabibilangan ng mga taong malalapit sa kanya ang magaganap.
Ang kuwento ng bride-to-be, "After more than four years of being together, papakasal na kami this coming January. Nakakatakot, kahit gaano ka nag-prepare, nagka-cramps ka pa rin kapag malapit na. It will be a garden wedding, a Christian wedding, and as much as possible, I'm keeping it to 200-250 guests.
Ang importanteng okasyon para kay Ciara ay dadaluhan ng pinsan niyang si Sharon Cuneta, Regal Films matriarch Lily Monteverde, at iba pang kilalang pangalan sa showbiz.
Pagdedetalye niya, "Si Mother Lily, ninang ko yun. Si Ate Sharon, matron of honor ko. Lahat ng kasal naming magkakapatid, kailangan nandun siya.
"Mitch Dulce, my BFF [best friend forever] will do my wedding gown. The color motif is lavender, my favorite color. Julia Clarete will be my bridesmaid.
"Si KC, pinipilipit ko yung leeg niya dahil sa schedule niya. Sabi ko nga sa kanya, 'you have to be here.' Mayroon kasi siyang mga commitments sa States. Inaayos pa niya, inaayos pa niya para makapunta siya."
At gaya ng nasabi niya sa mga naunang interbyu dito sa PEP (Philippine Enetrtainment Portal), hindi raw magiging hadlang ang pagiging misis niya sa kanyang pag-aartista.
"Definitely tuloy pa rin," aniya. "He knows naman how it goes before I met him. Alam niya na ito ang work ko, na ito ang gusto kong gawin."
Nang usisain siya tungkol sa kanyang nabinbing Hollywood career na siyang naging dagilan kung bakit pansamantalang nawala ito sa Manila, ikinuwento ng aktres na nagkaroon siya ng problema sa producer nila doon.
"Yung sa Hollywood, that wasn't really a Hollywood dream. When I'm talking nga to the producer na may utang sa amin, parang I really have to brush that aside. Pag na-frustrate ka, na-depress ka, mabubuwisit ka lang kahit sayang na sayang lahat ng pinaghirapan mo. No, I won't sue, mahal din yun, 'saka recession ngayon so I have to understand. But they really have to learn their lesson na.
"May mga utang sila sa amin, kahit na sa sister ni Ate Lani at Riza Navales, may utang sila sa aming tatlo. The two girls are still there, but they're okey naman now. They're working na but not for them [the producers]. Right now, I'm talking to different producers, we'll see lang what will happen."
Kasama sa Mano Po 6 si Ciara at gumaganap bilang anak ni Sharon. Para sa kanya, isa itong napakagandang experience.
"It's one of the best experiences I ever had. She's my sister, and in the story, she has to be my mother so it was really different. It's also a piece of challenge...But it was really fun and I really learned a lot from her," pagtatapos niya.
