Sa kabila ng mga intriga at mga kasong ipinupukol sa kanya, nananatiling matatag ang cosmetic surgeon of the stars na si Dra. Vicki Belo.

"Pa-good luck na ang buhay ko this year. Alam mo naman last year, sobrang bugbog ako personally and professionally," pahayag ni Dra. Belo nang ma-interview siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), kasama si Mario Dumaual ng ABS-CBN, sa launching ng whitening and anti-ageing product na Belo Nutraceuticals: Glutathione + Collagen last Tuesday, July 13, sa Myron's restaurant sa Greenbelt 5 Makati.

DISMISSAL OF MULTIPLE CASE. Una na nga sa ipinagpapasalamat ni Dra. Belo ay ang pagkaka-dismiss ng multiple case of reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injuries, estafa, tax evasion and false, deceptive or misleading advertisement. Isinampa ang naturang kaso ni Josefina Norcio, na sumailalim sa hydrogel butt augmentation sa Belo Clinic sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City noong December 2002 at June 2005.

Sa resolusyon na inilabas ng Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City, sinasabi na walang matibay na ebidensiya na nagtuturo na si Dr. Belo ang gumawa ng procedure sa kanya. Dahil dito, wala raw batayan na idamay pa rito ang cosmetic surgeon.

Dagdag pa ng resolusyon, napatunayan ng test na ginawa ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Forensic Chemistry Division na nagka-infection nga si Norcio. Pero hindi naman nito napatunayan na may kinalaman sa infection ang hydrogel na inilagay sa kanya. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)

Nauna na itong nailathala rito sa PEP. At ngayon nga ay muli naming hiningan ng reaksiyon si Dra. Belo tungkol dito.

"Yeah, finally I feel relieved," sabi niya. "You know, I'm happy kasi I kept quiet the whole time. I've been attending hearings left and right. And then when the facts are presented, doon lumalabas na talagang absuwelto kami.

"You know, it took so long that's why I'm really so relieved. With the grace of God, I'm so happy. Kasi I always asked Him, what should I do? And I got the message na parang I'll take care of it. I believe in God and it happened naman."

Nagkausap ba sila personally ng complainant na si Josefina Norcio?

"Wala, I never even met her," sagot ni Dra. Belo. "Kasi people like that, parang you don't want to talk to them kasi parang it's encouraging more people to... Parang out of nowhere, four years ago, she's complaining about an area I never even touched. Kasi nga, the butt is the problem. Tapos humihingi siya ng P200 million.

"Alam mo, medyo ibang klase na ito, e. Not even my lawyers, nobody has talked to them. Kasi dinala kaagad nila sa press. Hindi man lang sila nagpakita sa clinic. E, hindi naman ganun normally ginagawa ng tao, di ba? Parang you should try to talk with the doctors first with all means. And then if the doctors aren't cooperative and then saka ka lang pupunta sa press. E, eto, kaagad-agad press. So, alam mo na kung ano ang gusto."

Ano naman ang feeling na sa kabila ng iba't ibang isyu ay tila hindi nawala ang tiwala ng clients at patronizers sa Belo Clinic?

"I know, that's why I'm so happy," sambit ni Dra. Belo. "And the best thing at the start of the year was winning the Reader's Digest Award. Kasi, di ba, that award is something that is given to people who are trusted three times more than dun sa iba? Platinum na kasi. It's really something that time I needed it most, the people voted and trusted me. Talagang nakakataba ng puso.

"At saka international organization ito kaya talagang walang hanky-panky, so they really reflect the will of the people. So, thank you so much."
