ABS-CBN's noontime show Happy Yipee Yehey! will air its final episode on February 4.

But unlike the previous shows that occupied the Kapamilya network's afternoon slot, its exit is not that controversial.

Even in the recent poll of PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the news elicited a somewhat-mild reaction from the public.

Among the 348 voters, more than half of the PEPsters chose "no reaction" to this news.

Aboyut 28.16 percent answered "okay lang," while 23.85 percent percent was "nalungkot."

GOODBYE, HAPPY YIPEE YEHEY!. The poll result could be an indication of the public's perception about the show.

In terms of audience share, it had a hard time leveling up with its rival show,  Eat Bulaga!, which is currently on its 33rd year.

Its launch last February 12, 2011 seemed to be promising, despite Willie Revillame's negative remark, "Tandaan mo 'to, hindi magre-rate 'yan. Tandaan mo 'yan. Ako nagsasabi sa 'yo. O, ayan, sige bahala kayo."

There was no doubt about the hosts giving their best, but it's hard to beat the camaraderie among the Dabarkads, and possibly, the longest-running afternoon show's engaging contests.

Here's a portion of ABS-CBN's official statement, which was sent to PEP last January 26.

"ABS-CBN is very grateful to the HYY hosts and production staff for their hard work and contribution in giving our noontime viewers a 'happy, yipee, yehey' experience for the past year.

"We also extend our deepest gratitude to our viewers, here in the Philippines and in The Filipino Channel (TFC) markets worldwide, for their support to the program."

It may not be a "happy" ending for the show, but the management assures that, "The HYY hosts will be given new project that kapamilyas will surely enjoy."
