Kris Aquino dismisses malicious Baby James Photo circulating the net
The alleged photos of Baby James gesturing with the middle finger. Digitally manipulated or not?
TV host Kris Aquino is not new to politics, being the daughter of a former president of the republic. Still, it seems she is now, once again, being made to realize how dirty politics could really be.
In a move meant to seemingly smear the candidacy of her brother presidential candidate Sen.Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, a malicious picture of Baby James, Kris’ son with basketball player James Yap, is now making the rounds of web-based social networking sites.
The photos, said to have been first uploaded on the popular network website Facebook last year, show the young tot giving the middle finger.
Although the first picture [Baby James in yellow shirt] is somewhat disputable given that it shows Baby James apparently holding on to a dog tag chain and the protrusion of the middle finger looked quite inadvertent; the second picture [Baby James in black shirt] shows him blatantly displaying the finger right towards the camera.
Aquino is seemingly dismissive of the photo in a tweet message:
“Angel (Locsin) texted me na in Facebook, there's an edited picture of Baby James na naka-dirty finger. How foul naman to pick on a ... 2-year-old! Super major karma whoever is behind that! To prey on the innocence of a child! Hayyyyyy! So evil!”
A photo expert, who was asked to examine the photos, agrees that the second picture was faked through digital manipulation.
The alleged photos of Baby James gesturing with the middle finger. Digitally manipulated or not?
“The quality is very low but yeah…it looks quite sufficient. The person or persons who did this sure have plenty of time in their hands. Still, I maintain it’s a fake,” said the expert who requested anonymity.
That said, it looks like the damage has been done with many netizens already reacting to the photos.
From Twitter:
“There's an edited picture of Baby James na naka-dirty finger...dirty tricks of politics...”
“An edited picture of baby james with dirty finger???-THAT'S MEAN! sobra!!! it's unfair!!! whew! how dirty politics can get!!! grabe!”
Some comments from Facebook:
“Dirty finger from baby James, kung anu-ano kasi tinuturo eh , OMG!”
“Sweet baby james ”
“He is a baby [there’s] nothing wrong with that... maybe there is a dirt in his middle finger, that’s why he pointed that way...kayo talaga!!! ‘pag may pamilya involve sa politika, pati bata isasali nyo!!!”
“I've encountered many kids in my work [doing the same]…it is [just] an [innocent] action, no meaning...”
“… we need to correct them before they believe in growing that the act was not bad at all… we need to teach them proper values and behavior at an early age, mahirap na kasi turuan pag matanda na.”
The showbiz website STIR alleged that the first picture originated from the account “arajasmina.multiply.com” on April 20, 2008 with the text: “happy 1st birthday baby james!”
A certain pamsalcedo commented on April 25, 2008: “Parang naka dirty finger si baby james.”
arajasmina replies on April 26, 2008: “kaka-one year old lang ni bagets, wag mo munang bigyan ng malisya hahahah.”from donya victorina

Report: McGrady would take pay cut to stay in New York 07:03 AM ET 02.21 | On the day of his New York debut, Tracy McGrady left the door open to playing for less money if the Knicks stock up in free agency as expected this summer. McGrady said he is no longer worried about money but would be "a fool" not to try to stick around if the Knicks sign two big ticket free agents, as they are expected to. McGrady made a good case to the Knicks to keep him in first game with the team last night, scoring 26 points in New York's overtime loss to Oklahoma City New York Post

Former No. 1 Ivanovic hires Graf’s former coach
BELGRADE, Serbia (AP)—Former top-ranked player Ana Ivanovic has hired Steffi Graf’s old coach, Heinz Gunthardt, to help end a lengthy slump.
Ivanovic said on her Web site Monday that Gunthardt, who helped Graf win 12 Grand Slam singles titles, will accompany her to the BNP Paribas Showdown in New York next week. Ivanovic has replaced the injured Serena Williams in the exhibition event.
Ivanovic has fallen from No. 1 in the rankings in 2008, when she won the French Open, to No. 23 and was knocked out in the second round of the Australian Open last month.

Miguel Cotto is fortunate to get another title shot against someone he can beat after his brutal loss to Manny Pacquiao. BEST OPPORTUNITY Yuri Foreman: The new junior middleweight titleholder will defend his belt against former junior welterweight and welterweight star Miguel Cotto on June 5 at Yankee Stadium in New York City. This is a very difficult fight for the slick-boxing Israeli even though Cotto is coming off a knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao and fighting at 154 pounds for the first time. The Puerto Rican, a three-time titleholder, remains one of the most-dangerous fighters in the world. Thus, a victory would give Foreman the credibility of a major player that eluded him after he took Daniel Santos’ belt in November. To pull this off, Foreman will have to be at his sharpest and hope that Cotto has slipped (as some believe) or doesn’t adapt well to the new weight class.

Sixers considering breaking ties with A.I. Adrian Wojnarowski Allen Iverson(notes) will not be with the Philadelphia 76ers on their current West Coast road trip and could have played his last game for the team. League sources told Yahoo! Sports there’s a strong movement within the organization to permanently break ties with him. Iverson is with his family to deal with medical issues concerning his daughter, but his constant in-and-out of the lineup this season has led team officials to believe a permanent break is best for the organization. Sources said Iverson went to team officials over the weekend and said he needed to leave again.
Sources say Sixers coach Eddie Jordan addressed the players on Sunday, and told them there’s a chance Iverson may not return to the team. Sixers ownership, general manager Ed Stefanski and Jordan haven’t sat down and formally come to that decision, but sources with knowledge of the Sixers’ plans believe the franchise is leaning in that direction.
Iverson missed five games to be with his daughter from Feb. 3-10. He also didn’t attend the All-Star Game after being voted as a starter for the Eastern Conference. He returned to the Sixers after the break and had played in the team’s past three games, including a 122-90 loss in Chicago.
The Sixers begin their three-game West Coast trip on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors.
Sixers sources say Iverson hasn’t been a problem since joining the team. He’s worked well with the team’s younger players, and never complained about minutes or shots. The Sixers have just struggled with his constant comings and goings, and how that’s affected chemistry.
“It’s Allen and it’s Philly, so how this plays out has got to be delicate for everyone,” one league source said.
The Sixers released a statement late Monday afternoon saying Iverson has been granted an “indefinite” leave from the team.
“At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball,” Stefanski said in the statement.

Is Manila still Mad? By: Tiffany Tan/http://autismsocietyphilippines.blogspot.com Actress Claire Danes was tapped in August 2008 to play Temple Grandin.
Temple Grandin’s life has been made into a biopic by HBO. Click here for more details on the film.
During a radio interview, Temple Grandin was quoted as saying Claire was “brilliant” in playing me. She totally changed into me. She totally turns into the character that she’s acting.” (Source: Talk of the Nation NPR.org)
During the filming of another movie, Broken Down Palace, some scenes were filmed in a dilapidated hospital in Manila. (Claire played an imprisoned American in Thailand for drug smuggling.)
In the 1998 interview with Premier Magazine, she was quoted as saying Manila “smelled of cockroaches, with rats all over, and that there is no sewerage system, and the people do not have anything - no arms, no legs, no eyes."
This triggered an outrage from Manila City Government and councilors passed a resolution to ban her movies indefinitely and demanded a public apology.
Claire has since apologized to the city and Filipino people, as only a reflection from the movie location site, and not as a general overview of Filipinos.

Celebrities sell...we all know that...whether they’re selling tsismis (in talk shows) or products (especially).
According to the yearend (2009) issue of Adobo magazine (The Word on Advertising), in a survey conducted late last year by Synergy Business Consultancy among 1,000 males and females aged 15 to 60 from all socio-economic levels in Metro Manila, seven out of 10 said they purchased a product because of a celebrity endorser.
Adobo quoted JJ Henson, creative director of Publicis Manila, as saying, “Sometimes celebrities become the brand, and when something bad happens to the celebrity, the brand suffers.” That’s the risk advertisers have to take.
Adobo lists the following as The Top 10 Credible Endorsers:
• Manny Pacquiao, 47 percent
• Vicki Belo, 34 percent
• Ruffa Gutierrez, 33 percent
• Marian Rivera, 33 percent
• Mel Tiangco, 22 percent
• James Yap, 22 percent
• Melanie Marquez, 21 percent
• Korina Sanchez, 20 percent
• Manny Calayan, 20 percent
• Mike Enriquez, 19 percent by Ricky Lo/Philstar

Kobe returns and sinks Grizzlies, 99-98
MEMPHIS, Tenn.(AP) Kobe Bryant returned to lineup after missing five games with an ankle injury and hit a 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds left to lift the Los Angeles Lakers to 99-98 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night.
Bryant led the Lakers with 32 points, including his team's final nine points. His 3-pointer with 54 seconds left tied the game.
Pau Gasol added 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, who won for the seventh time in their last eight road games.
The Grizzlies, who lost their fifth straight home game, were led by O.J. Mayo's 25 points. Zach Randolph scored 20 and grabbed 14 rebounds, his seventh straight double-double.
Mayo's two missed free throws with 18.8 seconds allowed the Lakers an opportunity to complete a comeback from nine points down early in the fourth quarter. Had Mayo made his free throws, the Grizzlies would have led by four.
Absent from the Lakers lineup for his longest stretch in five years, Bryant scored nine points in the opening quarter, including a four-point play, and triggered a late first-quarter run with two breakaway dunks to increase the Lakers lead to 11.
Bryant last played Feb. 5 and Los Angeles went 4-1 without him.
The Grizzlies took their first lead early in the third quarter on a 3-pointer by Mayo for a 59-56 advantage and didn't trail again until Bryant's game-winning shot.
Bryant, averaging 42.5 points against Memphis in two previous games this season, began his late nine-point run with a jumper from the left wing with 2:23 to go to trim the Memphis lead to 95-92.
With Bryant scoring 17 of his points in the first half, the Lakers built several 14-point leads before settling for a 53-48 halftime advantage.
NOTES: Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph broke Pau Gasol 's single-season franchise record for offensive rebounds (238). Playing in his 56th game of the season, Randolph grabbed four offensive rebounds to increase his total to 242. Gasol played for Memphis from 2001 and 2008.

A (super)Star is BornA consistent go-to scorer who can help his team weather the cold spells and deliver in crunch time. Nobody has scored more consistently than Kevin Durant this season -- or any other season in a long time. Durant has scored at least 25 points in 28 consecutive games, the longest streak since Michael Jordan's 40 in a row in 1986-87. As for crunch time, I asked Durant how he has changed from when he launched an airball in a last-second loss to the Lakers back in November, compared to the three-pointer he nailed to tie the score in regulation and another one to clinch the win in overtime against the Knicks last Saturday. "Before I used to put too much pressure on myself, say, 'I've got to hit this shot,' " Durant said. "But now I am thinking, 'This is just another shot,' and I think that is the way all the great clutch shooters think of it. That's the way I have to approach it. I didn't hit them early in the year and I am starting to hit some now. I want to be a real clutch shooter like those other guys are and I've got to take my lumps for it. I think that will make me a better player."

Whale kills trainer as horrified spectators watch AP ORLANDO, Fla. – A SeaWorld killer whale seized a trainer in its jaws Wednesday and thrashed the woman around underwater, killing her in front of a horrified audience. It marked the third time the animal had been involved in a human death.
Distraught audience members were hustled out of the stadium immediately, and the park was closed.
Trainer Dawn Brancheau, 40, was one of the park's most experienced. It was not clear if she drowned or died from the thrashing.
A former contractor with SeaWorld told the Orlando Sentinel that the whale, Tilikum, is typically kept isolated from SeaWorld's other killer whales and that trainers were not allowed to get in the water with him because of his violent history.
There were conflicting accounts of the attack. The sheriff's office said Brancheau slipped or fell into the whale's tank, but at least one witness said the animal leaped from the water and dragged the woman in.
A retired couple from Michigan told The Associated Press that Wednesday's killing happened as a noontime show was winding down, with some in the audience staying to watch the animals and trainers.
Spectator Eldon Skaggs said Brancheau was on a platform with the whale and was massaging it. He said the interaction appeared leisurely and informal.
Then, Skaggs said, the whale "pulled her under and started swimming around with her."
Skaggs said an alarm sounded and staff rushed the audience out of the stadium as workers scrambled around with nets.
Skaggs said he heard that during an earlier show the whale was not responding to directions. Others who attended the earlier show said the whale was behaving like an ornery child.
The couple left and did not find out until later that the trainer had died.

BREAKING NEWS: HERBERT BAUTISTA TO ANSWER THEFT CHARGES
THE Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has summoned the comedian Vice-Mayor Herbert ‘Bistek’ Bautista to appear before the court and answer the theft charges filed against him by his former chief security and childhood friend.
The hearing is scheduled at 9 am today, according to Assistant City Prosecutor Joselito Bacolor.
Complainant Carlos De Leon charged Bautista of stealing his tarpaulin printing machine worth P1.2 million in his Cham Advertising Shop in Bahay Toro, Quezon City last year.
He said Hero Bautista, the vice-mayor’s brother, helped the former comedian remove his FY 8180 III Infiniti Printer inside the printing shop without his knowledge.
When confronted, the brother of Bautista allegedly told De Leon he was ordered by the comedian vice-mayor to take the expensive equipment and challenged the complainant to file charges against them if he wants to.
“This is the right venue for him (Bautista) to answer my complaint. I hope he won’t blame other people for his misdeed,” De Leon said.
De Leon has witnesses for his complaint. They are Cham Advertising employees Rainer Lee San Diego, 24, graphic artist; Edward Sarenas, 19, graphic artist; and Eleanor Aquino, 42, secretary.
The witnesses supported De Leon’s statements that the Bautista’s stole his printing equipment.
Meanwhile, De Leon’s counsel Atty. Oliver Yuan of Yuan and Associates Law Firm said the complainant has a strong case against Bautista even though one of his witnesses, Bernald Beleson, retracted his statements.
It was learned that Beleson was made to reverse his statements in exchange for a P30, 000 cash, job and payment of hospital expenses for his ailing mother.
Bautista can be jailed if found guilty./donya victorina

Bong Revilla's own "Hello Garci" Scandal? By Mojo Javier/donyaVictorina It's the middle of the night and I just received an unexpected phone call from Mo Twister. Much to my surprise, DJ Mo urged me to check out his blog and take a listen to a certain Youtube video that has been circulating about the Internet and stirring up quite the controversy.
The Twister had managed to get his hands on a recording of what seems to be the voice of Senator Bong Revilla saying some real disconcerting things!
While news of this contentious video has yet to make it to the headlines of mainstream media, the blogoshpere has lived up to its up-to-the-minute reputation by bagging the scoop on this uber hot story. Last Tuesday, Spot.ph published the article: "Real or Fake? Bong Revilla’s scandalous recording..." (Is it real or just a sham? You be the judge.) * * * * *
A Youtube video entitled “Bong Revilla ang Galing Galing Mo” posted by a certain MrGalingko on Friday, February 19, has been making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter. It is an edited audio recording of a voice very similar to that of Sen. Revilla’s. But whether or not it is really him has yet to be proven.
Here’s the transcription based on the video:
[curse] nila. Hindi kayo nagkamali ng taya, at siguradong panalo ito. Malacanang nakasuporta din sa atin. Kung sino man naghaharass sa inyo, kunin niyo yung pangalan, taga-saan, at kami na ang bahaala dun.“
The MrGalingko channel was created the same day the video was posted. It has only one notable friend named kingshadywarri or.
