LOS
ANGELES, CALIFORNIA—Twelve-year old Aria
Clemente presented her debut album Sing Like A World
Champion Performer to Griff
O' Neal, founder and president of the World Championships of
Performing Arts (WCOPA)
or "Hollywood
Olympics."
Carlo
Orosa, WCOPA Philippine national director, joined Aria and her
parents at a welcome party held for all national directors
representing around 40 countries at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in
downtown Los Angeles Friday night (July 18). Joining this year for the
first time is Singapore, represented by Kuo Po, who happens to be
managing young Filipina singer Julia Abueva.
Orosa says, "Apart from the competitions, there will be invaluable free seminars that delegates to this year's WCOPA (now on its 12th year) can learn from. Seminar topics range from How to Break into Hollywood Show Business; Acting for Singers conducted by Matthew Dickens of ABC Television; Auditioning for a Singing Role on Broadway; Acting in Hollywood, conducted by Dave Shalansky of AIA Actors Studio, among others."
There will also be a special seminar that would discuss the process
of applying for work visa in the U.S. for talents who are seriously
considering a career in Hollywood.
WCOPA Grand Champion performers from the Philippines, Aria Clemente and Jed Madela, will open this year's competitions at the Universal City Walk on Sunday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. International press and media, including ABS-CBN's TFC and GMA Pinoy TV News, will cover the events this year.
