The multi-platinum band that churned out the hit songs "Welcome to My Life", "Untitled" and "Perfect" will once again rock Manila. On January 12, 2012, be prepared for Simple Plan's Get Your Heart On! Tour at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
This Canadian pop punk band from Montréal, Quebec entered the pop punk rock scene in 1999. Simple Plan is composed of Pierre Bouvier (lead vocals), Jeff Stinco (lead guitar), Sébastien Lefebvre (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), David Desrosiers (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Chuck Comeau (drums and percussion).
The band first visited Manila in March 2005, performing together with Avril Lavigne. Leaving their local fans wanting for more, they came back in August 2008 with New Found Glory and Jamie Scott.
Overall, Simple Plan have sold nearly 4 million albums in the U.S. and Canada and more than 7.5 million albums worldwide.
The band's fourth album, Get Your Heart On!, has nearly reached gold status in Canada and spawned a radio hit in "Jet Lag." In the English version of "Jet Lag," Natasha Bedingfield provided the female vocals while in the French version, Marie Mai was tapped to sing the female vocals.
Simple Plan also made a mark in Hollywood by having several of their songs featured in the movies Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo 2. They also appeared in the 2004 film New York Minute. The band garnered considerable worldwide recognition and their name has become a staple to many teenagers and young adults' music playlists.
Their 4th album Get Your Heart On!, features collaborations with several artists like Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Natasha Bedingfield, K'naan and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth.
