Thousands of concertgoers gathered at the Metrowalk Open Parking Lot last February 9, 2012 to support Original Pinoy Music and to help in spreading HIV/AIDS awareness as they took part in this year's biggest music event with a cause, Channel [V]'s Red Revolution Music Festival 2012. It was partnered with The Red Whistle and Philippine Red Cross.
A total of 59 bands and performers such as Urbandub, Franco, Chicosci, Imago, Callalily, Karl Roy, Razorback, Ebe Dancel, and Rivermaya wowed the crowd and rocked the house down for 11 ½ long, straight hours.
Those who participated in the event were composed of students, HIV/AIDS advocates, and even young foreigners, eager to learn more about the deadly disease while enjoying Filipino music.
The event's highlights include the blowing of the red whistle, headed by Niccolo Cosme, as a sign of putting a halt to the ballooning number of HIV/AIDS cases. This was accompanied with an amazing fireworks display. It was even more special when Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson arrived together with Pound-for-Pound King and Saranggani Representative Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
Other showbiz personalities who showed their support were Andi Eigenmann, Diana Zubiri, Francine Prieto, Liz Uy, Krista Kleiner, Megan Young, Lauren Young, Jay-R, Kris Lawrence, and Saab Magalona. UNDP Philippines' Country Director, Mr. Renaud Meyer, also graced this advocacy concert.
