Jay wins another award as the Best Fiction Feature Film Award at the 7th Bilbao International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Spain. Jay stars Baron Geisler (foreground) and Coco Martin (background). The award serves as a wonderful birthday gift to Director Francis Xavier Pasion (inset) who celebrated his birthday last February 9, Tuesday.

Congratulations to director Francis Xavier Pasion!

His first feature film Jay won the Best Fiction Feature Film Award with 3000 euros at the 7th Bilbao International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Spain last January 29 to February 6.

It was a wonderful birthday present to Direk Francis who celebrated his birthday last February 9 Tuesday.

Jay was in the Orizzonti section of the 2008 Venice Film Festival. This is the seventh international recognition for Jay after winning the following awards:

Special Mention, Bangkok 2008

Special Mention , Bahamas 2008

Special Mention, FICCO Mexico 2009

Best Feature Film, Berlin Hotshots 2009

Audience Award, Black Film Festival, Geneva 2009

Best Digital Film, Barcelona Asian 2009

Direk Francis is now preparing his second feature film Sampaguita which is an official selection at the 2010 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival this July.
