Gabby Concepcion joins the cast of Ang Huling Sugo (The Last Messenger), Iglesia Ni Cristo's centennial movie for 2014.

Viva insiders confirmed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that Gabby has accepted the project.

Gabby will play the role of INC executive minister Eduardo V. Manalo.

Gabby's entry in the film came after Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.’s decision to leave the film, with a heavy heart, because of the possible implications his portrayal may leave or do to the film.

Arlyn dela Cruz, the assigned executive producer for the epic movie, did not make an official announcement.

But on her Facebook account, she posted a picture with Gabby and Viva top executives Vic, Vincent, and Veronique del Rosario.

She captioned it: "Magandang 'Gabo' Bayan!"

Gabby also posted a similar picture on his Instagram, but captioned it as a “new project” for Viva Films.

However, Viva Films is not producing the film.

The source from Viva Films said that Gabby was so excited to learn that he is being offered the role and readily said yes.

Meanwhile, the actress who will portray the wife of INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo has not yet been announced at press time.

Five popular actresses are being considered for the role.

Senator Revilla's wife, Bacoor Representative Lani Mercado, was supposed to play the role but also backed out of the project in support of her husband.
