Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby star in their third romance comedy "My Big Love"

(L-R) Kristine Hermosa, Sam Milby, and Toni Gonzaga topbill the Star Cinema film My Big Love, which will open on February 27. In the movie, Sam has to choose between the girl who was attracted to him despite his obesity or the girl who falls for him when he becomes a hunk.
Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga reunite the third time around with Star Cinema's My Big Love.
Sa Pebrero 27 pa lang magu-open ang unang pelikula ng Star Cinema for this year, ang My Big Love. Mula ito sa panulat ni Michiko Yamamoto na siya ring nagsulat ng hit indie movie Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros. Ang My Big Love rin ang first mainstream directorial job ni Jade Castro, who wrote and directed the Cinemalaya 2007 entry Endo that gave Ina Feleo the Best Actress award in the annual festival of independent movies. Ang Endo ay ipinapalabas ngayon sa mga digital cinemas ng SM at sa Gateway Mall.
Ito ang pangatlong pagkakataon na magsasama sina Sam and Toni sa big screen after their two movies You Are the One (2006) and You Got Me (2007). Kung solo love team sila sa You Are the One at ka-triangle nila si Zanjoe Marudo sa You Got Me, sa My Big Love, si Kristine Hermosa naman ang kanilang ka-triangle this time.
My Big Love is about an obese chef named Macky (Sam) who is in love with Niña (Kristine). Dahil sa kagustuhang mapansin ng babaeng crush niya, nag gym si Macky with Aira (Toni) as his instructor until he becomes fit and lean. Nagkaroon na rin siya ng confidence na lapitan ang kaniyang crush not knowing na kahit noong mataba pa lang siya, secretly in love na rin sa kanya si Aira who happens to be a friend of Niña.
Isang challenge kay Sam ang dinaanan niya sa pelikula.
He wore specially made synthetic prosthetics para tumaba siya and at the same time ay magagalaw niya ang kanyang facial muscles. This is the same material that Hollywood films use and the first time nagagamit sa isang local movie.
For My Big Love, pumayag din for the first time si Sam na magsuot ng trunks na siyang last sequence na kinunan sa pelikula.
