"I just thought it would be fun to do after spending months doing post [production] for SY (Senior Year).

Senior Year is Direk Jerrold's indie film about a batch of graduating high school students.

Now that he has agreed to be part of a "commercial" thriller franchise like Shake, Rattle and Roll XII, para sa episode na "Punerarya," natanong siya ng PEP: isa ba itong compromise sa kanyang makasining na gawain?

Sagot ni Jerrold, "Wala namang artistic compromise, since I accepted the project for fun."

In "Punerarya," Jerrold is dealing with characters who turn into wolves, or wolf-like creatures, as a result of an ancient curse.

Sa nakaraang SRR series noong '90s, may episode na dinirek si Peque Gallaga ("Ang Guro") na tumukoy rin sa kuwento ng isang teacher turning into a wolf. Ginampanan 'yon ni Edu Manzano, with Manilyn Reynes as his student.

"As for similarities with Peque's episode, I don't know anything about it since I haven't seen the episode," wika ni Jerrold.

"Plus, it's really not my concern because, as I said, I'm just doing this project for fun. No statements about Pinoy cinema or anything."

SAME PRODUCTION TEAM.
