The compilation album called H.O.P.E. Vol. 2 (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment), Wings of the Soul, has already earned a Gold Record award. This 12-track inspirational CD is a collaboration between Star Records, Pinky Tobiano of Pinky Cares foundation, and actress Lorna Tolentino, the widow of Rudy Fernandez.

Unlike the first album, which focuses on people in pain, the second compilation is now dedicated to those who take care of sick people.

Pinky, a breast cancer patient, told the media during the press conference recently held at the ABS-CBN compound: "Last year, I produced the first H.O.P.E. for cancer patients.  But this year, I produced H.O.P.E., which is Wings of the Soul for people taking care of people like us."

Star Records' managing director Annabel Regalado-Borja cites Lorna Tolentino as a good example of a family member who personally took care of a loved one who developed cancer.

She explained: "The songs in the album are life-enriching, heart-warming, and encouraging.  It aims to bring healing, enlightenment, and hope to live every minute of our lives to the fullest.  Wings of the Soul, H.O.P.E. Volume 2 was conceptualized through the triumvirate efforts of producer Pinky Tobiano, Star Records, and Lorna Tolentino.  They talked it over at the height of LT's grief over the loss of beloved husband Rudy Fernandez.

"LT was an epitome of strength, inspiration, and optimism.  As we were doing the project, LT's journey of pain, grief, acceptance and healing was not just life-enriching but also soul-enriching."

The widow recalled, "Noong December, kaya hindi pa rin ako ready at that time, ito 'yong ginagawa ko.  Maganda kasi na para mas matulungan mo ang sarili mo dapat tumulong ka rin sa iba.  And this is one way of helping other people.  Basta lahat ng tao may pinagdadaraanang pagsubok kaya bagay ang album na ito sa kanila."

Lorna also agreed to sing two songs included in the album because she wanted to give support for people who suffer from cancer.  Cancer-related foundations such as Pinky Cares and Rudy Fernandez Cancer Foundation Inc. will equally benefit from the sales of Wings of the Soul album.

"Doon nag-start ang idea na, ‘Why not do an album?,'" said Lorna.  "Since 'yong H.O.P.E. Vol. 1 nga ni Pinky, it was a success, maraming natulungan.  So, noong in-offer niya sa akin and she was thinking na magkaroon na ng H.O.P.E. Vol. 2 na album, that's the time na-convince na, ‘O, sige, I'll do two songs and the rest will be all the friends of Rudy.'"

Lorna performed two songs, namely "Far From Home" and "Kalooban Mo," while local celebrities close to the celebrity couple also contributed to the  cause-oriented music project.  Among these showbiz personalities are Sharon Cuneta, Senator Bong Revilla, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Philip Salvador, and Tirso Cruz III.  Lorna also sought the help of scriptwriter-actress Ms. Bibeth Orteza for the prologue and epilogue of the album (voiced over by LT).

Since the album already reached gold status, Lorna asked music lovers, "Sana bumili pa sila ng para mag-platinum na at marami namang matutulungan ito."
