Music channel MYX caused a "hit-wave" in Boracay island as party-ready locals and vacationers filled the beachfront stretch of Paraw, Obama Grill and Ariel's House last April 18. There was non-stop partying under the stars until morning as top bands sang their musical hits one after the other, lined up especially for Summer MYX Fest 2009.

To everyone's pleasure, the weather cooperated as 6cyclemind opened up the night with a medley of "Sandalan," "Pare Ko," "Kaleidoscope World" and other hits. Julianne serenaded the crowd with her sweet voice as she performed "Waiting In Vain" with all the single partygoers singing with her. She also did her famous "Tulak Ng Bibig."

Meanwhile, Imago rocked the night with Sundo followed by their new songs "Bawi," "Hymn" and "Yahoo," among others. Pedicab sent the crowd into a frenzy with their popular songs "FX," "Simulan Mo Na" plus their other hits. Solo artist Rico Blanco performed "Your Universe," "Awit ng Kabataan," "Umaaraw, Umuulan," "Bye Bye Na" and others.

Chicosci heated up the summer stage with their signature songs "Vampire Social Club," "Diamond Shot Gun" and "7 Black Roses." Rock band Sandwich played their crowd fave "Selos," "Laklak" and "Betamax." These top bands all rocked the island with their all-out performances.

Celebrity and resident MYX VJ Luis Manzano arrived at the island ahead of the others to celebrate his birthday. He was later on joined by other MYX VJs namely Iya Villania, Nikki Gil, Andre Felix, Robi Domingo, Monica Yncierto, Chino Lui Pio and Bianca Roque who all did a good job of rockin' Station 1 of the island paradise.

This is MYX's third year to host a summer shindig in Boracay.
