Dahil sa kanyang original composition na "Miss Kita Kung Tuesday," nakapasok si RJ Jimenez sa reality talent search ng ABS-CBN.

Malamang na maunahan pa ni RJ Jimenez na sumikat ang ilan sa Top 6 scholars ng Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA).

Chance to shine ng ibang PDA scholars this time dahil nasa U.S. ngayon ang Top 6 (composed of Yeng Constantino, Jay-R Siaboc, Ronnie Liang, Irish Fullerton, Panky Trinidad, and Chad Peralta) for their series of concert. Busy rin naman ang nalalabing PDA scholars tulad ni RJ na puro gigs and TV guest spots.

Isa sa pinaka-promising si RJ kahit wala siya sa Top 6 dahil certified composer siya. Si RJ (short for Ryan Jay) ay nagatapos ng Electronic Communication Engineering sa University of Sto. Tomas at nag-o-OJT (on-the-job training) siya noon sa ABS-CBN nang nag-apply siya sa PDA. Isang original composition ang tinugtog niya sa PDA audition, ang "Miss Kita Kung Tuesday," na ikinasiguro ng pagpasok niya sa reality talent search ng ABS-CBN.

Naging kasing-hit ng "Hawak Kamay" ng Grand Dreamer na si Yeng Constantino-na na-link dati kay RJ-ang "Miss Kita Kung Tuesday," na part of the first volume of the PDA album.

Nang nakalabas na si RJ, he was commissioned to write, compose, and then sing the theme song of the Kapamilya network teen show Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv, ang "It's All About Your Love." He was paid around P50,000 for the song.

Sa ngayon, may mahigit 30 compositions pa siyang nakaimbak and waiting lang na magawa. Ang ilan dito, nasa debut album niya na ire-release next month ng Dream Records. May isa rin siyang ibinigay sa MYMP na hopefully ay tanggapin daw. Dream din ni RJ na makapagsulat for Christian Bautista.

Ang Eraserheads at sina Jason Mraz at John Mayer ang mga influences ni RJ sa kaniyang music.
