Korean pop fever is not showing signs of slowing down in the country as the K-pop group 4Minute released its new mini-album, which is now available in Philippine record bars.
MCA Music responds to the clamor of K-pop fans in the Philippines with the release of HuH, pronounced as "Ha" and short for "Hit Your Heart." The album was actually launched in MCA's recent K-pop United event held at the SM Megamall Event Center last September 4. During the said event, local fans expressed their support for their idols by doing performances a la 4Minute.
The package boasts of the album-title lead single, along with two more tracks "I My Me Mine" and "Who's Next," which features vocals from the members of the Korean singing group BEAST. Interestingly, BEAST has also appeared in the music video for HuH.
For their latest mini-album, the girls of 4Minute, namely Ji Hyun, Ga Yoon, Ji Yoon, Hyun Ah and So Hyun showcased bolder and edgier looks. For the album and its supporting music videos, the girls have sported new hairstyles and sexier outfits.
This all-girl Korean singing group visited the Philippines last February at a time when local fans' interest in K-pop music reached fever pitch. The charming quintet bewitched their Pinoy fans and gained even more supporters during their short stay. The album also includes a DVD which features behind-the-scenes footage of their Philippine promo tour.
MCA Music, in partnership with Korea's CUBE Entertainment, released 4Minute's first mini-album Muzik, which spawned the hits "What A Girl Wants," "Hot Issue," and the title track.
The group started its career in June of 2009. By now it has already received awards from their hometown such as Cyworld's Rookie of the Month, Korea's Cultural, Physical Education and Tourism Bureau: Rookie Music Award, SBS Power Rookie (August) and Golden Disk Awards Newcomer Award (shared with T-ara). They even topped in Taiwan when they hit the number one spot in the country's leading music site, KKBOX.
