Noong nakaraang Hulyo pa naging isa sa mga bagong VJ ng MYX ang musician na si Ton Vergel de Dios, ngunit hanggang ngayon ay excited pa rin siya na kasama siya sa music channel na ito.
Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si VJ Ton sa isang pocket interview sa ABS-CBN noong October 29.
"It's really exciting, but at the same time, I would say it's probably the best job you're gonna get," masayang pahayag ng 21-year old musician and VJ.
Ilan sa mga programa niya sa MYX ay ang Take 5 at Rock MYX. Kasama niya sa mga programang ito ang kapwa niyang bagong VJs na sina Robin Nievera at si Julz Savard.
Pero ang paborito niya sa ngayon ay ang My MYX, kung saan tumatanggap sila ni Julz ng mga kakaibang request.
"The My MYX of me and Julz together is actually kind of special. For the first time, you can request not only for videos but also for us to sing songs and to perform songs. It's really exciting, it's really fun," paliwanag niya.
Sa Rock MYX naman, nag-a-adjust na siya sa kakulitan ng co-host niyang si VJ Robin.
"I think now we're finding our groove, so we're jiving more, and our humor is becoming more clear-cut. It's not as awkward, you know?" saad ni VJ Ton.
Kaya naman pakiramdam ni VJ Ton, tama lamang ang pagkakapili sa kanya ng MYX para maging bahagi nito.
"I think what they saw in me during the VJ Search, or in the three of us, was not just that we were already, bam! Yun na yun. This is what we can have for the next so and so months and years, whatever. But I think they really saw that we all have the potential and really wanted to learn.
"We are really interested in music, specially, and I think that's what really helped us in the end, na parang, talagang gusto namin yung ginagawa namin. Whenever there's a new song that comes in, we're all really excited, kasi parang, 'Oh! We all see this before everyone else does!' 'Oh, this is number 10 na...' We're really into it and I think it really helps."
Ngunit ano na ba ang nagbago sa buhay niya mula nang naging isa siyang VJ?
"I dunno," sagot niya matapos ang ilang segundo. "Probably I'm more famous than before, obviously it was because I was just a college student then. I think it's really a plus to be really a fan of music. I was a fan of MYX even before the very start."
Natulungan daw ng pagiging VJ niya ang pag-angat ng kanyang dalawang banda: ang Hansom at ang Tonight We Sleep.
"I think my bandmates were really supportive of it because they knew that MYX is an industry that's really supportve of the music scene, lalo na sa local music scene. I think they knew that it would be a plus for us.
